Three Steps. No Code.

Open the Designer

Launch PDF Designer from the menu, click New PDF and pick your model from the sidebar.

Design Visually

Drag fields, shapes, tables, QR & barcodes onto the canvas and tweak them in the properties panel.

Save & Activate

Save compiles the canvas to QWeb. Enable Active to add the report to the model's Print menu.

A full toolbar of shapes, lines, QR codes, barcodes, symbols and content blocks. Place any element on a pixel-precise grid, while the right-hand preview updates instantly against real records.

Relational Fields. & Tables.

Expand Many2One fields to drag sub-fields like customer email or country straight onto the page. Tick One2Many child fields and click Add Table — then rename headers, set widths and pick styles.

Save. Then Print.

Click Save Report to compile the canvas into a QWeb template stored in the database. Enable Active and the report appears in the model's Print menu. A one-click Fix Template button repairs variable-scope errors with no restart.

User Guide

Dynamic Report Designer — Installation & Usage

Install the module — it depends only on base, web and mail, so it works with any Odoo 19 edition. Open PDF Designer from the menu, click New PDF and choose the model you want to design a report for.

Drag fields and elements from the toolbar onto the canvas, then fine-tune each one in the properties panel — size, colour, borders, visibility conditions and more. Use Quick Insert for common items (company logo, record name, date, page number) and the live preview to check the result against real records. Click Save Report and enable Active to publish it to the model's Print menu.

QR codes need the optional qrcode Python library and barcodes need python-barcode — both elements still appear in the designer even without the libraries. If a stored report shows a variable-scope error when printing, click the Fix Template button to patch it automatically.
