Journal Restrictions for Users & Teams
Choose who can see your financial data. Limit access to specific journals to keep your accounting work private and secure.
Journal Restrict provides granular control over the Accounting Dashboard, Invoices, Vendor Bills, and Payments. Use per-user or per-journal configurations to ensure only authorized personnel handle sensitive journals.
Seamless integration with Odoo Accounting and Invoicing modules.
View DemoSecurity setup in minutes.
Just toggle on and let the module handle the journal restrictions.
Key Features
Per-User Journal Assignment
Assign specific accounting journals to each user profile, allowing them to ONLY see and use those permitted journals.
Per-Journal User Assignment
Alternatively, manage access from the Journal form by adding allowed users directly to the specific journal.
Dashboard Filtering
The Accounting Dashboard automatically hides journal cards that the current user is restricted from viewing.
Managerial Bypass
Accounting Managers and System Administrators always have full, unrestricted visibility regardless of settings.
Easy Access Configuration
Go to Settings > Users & Companies > Users and open the user you want to apply restrictions to. A new Journal Restrictions tab will appear where you can manage their access.
Activate and Assign Journals
Toggle on the Enable Journal Restrict Feature and select the specific Allowed Journals that this user should be able to access.
Manage Journal Access
On each journal, use the Allowed Users tab to define exactly who can interact with it. The journal remains accessible only to these authorized users.
Access Restrictions
If the Journal Restrict Feature is enabled but no journals are assigned to the user, they will be blocked from accessing or creating records (like invoices or bills) for those journal types, ensuring absolute security.
