Kanban WIP Limit & Flow Metrics turns an ordinary Odoo Project Kanban board into a real Kanban system: cap how many tasks may sit in a column at once, get warned the moment a column goes over that cap, and measure exactly how fast work flows from start to done. Every stage transition is logged, so cycle time, lead time and a cumulative flow diagram are always one click away.
Key Features
Per-Stage WIP Limit
Every Kanban stage gets a default WIP cap (0 for unlimited) and a Counts as Active Work flag that marks real work-in-progress stages versus backlog or done/cancelled columns.
Per-Project Override
The WIP Limit Configuration screen lets you set a different cap for the same shared stage on a per-project basis, with live task count, over-by amount and utilization percentage for every configured stage.
Automatic Breach Alerts
Every time a task enters a stage, the effective WIP limit is checked; if the column is now over its cap, a chatter warning is posted on the task explaining by how much.
Cycle Time & Lead Time
Every stage transition is logged with who moved the task, when, and how long it sat in the previous stage; cycle time and lead time are computed and stored on every task for list, pivot and graph analysis.
Cumulative Flow Diagram
A wizard builds the classic date-by-stage cumulative task count data set for any project or across all projects and a chosen date range, rendered as a chart plus the raw data grid.
Project Flow Dashboard
Smart buttons on the Project form show the number of currently breached columns and the average cycle and lead time, jumping straight to WIP configuration, the flow dashboard or the CFD wizard.
Immutable Transition Log
Every stage transition is kept as a task.flow.event record capturing the mover, timestamp and WIP snapshot at that moment, the audit trail behind every metric above.
Work Started / Flow Done Timestamps
Each task automatically records the first time it entered an active-work stage and the first time it entered a folded (Done) stage, the two dates cycle time and lead time are measured from.

Most Odoo Kanban boards are Kanban in name only, with no cap on work in progress and no visibility into how long tasks actually take. This module adds the two things that make Kanban work as a flow-control system: enforced WIP limits with real alerts, and the flow metrics (cycle time, lead time, CFD) needed to see whether the team is actually getting faster.
