Ghana E-VAT Credit Note
GRA VSDC credit / refund note re-certification for Odoo 18 & 19
Issue compliant Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) E-VAT credit and refund notes directly from Odoo. Under the E-VAT clearance regime (mandatory from January 2026, no threshold), a credit note that reduces or reverses a cleared invoice must be re-certified by the Virtual Sales Data Controller (VSDC), linked back to the original invoice. This module adds that complete flow on top of the Ghana E-VAT e-Invoice connector.
VSDC Re-certification
Transmits the credit note to your VSDC as a dedicated CREDIT_NOTE document linked to the original invoice fiscal reference (SDC number / YIN). Captures a fresh fiscal reference and clearance status, with retry, back-off and full request/response logging.
GRA Reason Codes
A real reason taxonomy — return of goods, price reduction, discount/rebate, cancellation, defective goods, short/wrong quantity, duplicate billing, tax-treatment correction and other — each with its own rules for partial credits, mandatory original reference and explanation notes.
Full vs Partial Credit
The credited gross total is compared against the original invoice total. A credit note can never exceed the invoice it adjusts, and reasons such as cancellation must credit in full. The credit is classified automatically and embedded in the re-certification block.
Original Invoice Linkage
The original cleared invoice's fiscal reference is auto-filled from the reversed entry and embedded in the credit-note reference and re-certification blocks of the signed JSON document, so the GRA can trace each note back to the invoice it adjusts.
Verification QR + State Machine
Each re-certified credit note gets its own GRA verification-URL QR (carrying the credit note and original fiscal references) and a clear re-certification state machine: to re-certify, submitted, re-certified, rejected or error — with a void action and a clearance-polling cron.
Inherited Multi-Levy Tax
15% VAT plus NHIL (2.5%) and GETFund (2.5%), each charged straight-line on the VAT-exclusive selling price under the VAT Act 2025 (Act 1151, in force from 1 January 2026; the COVID-19 Health Recovery Levy has been abolished), plus legacy TIN and Ghana Card PIN validation, are reused unchanged from the Ghana E-VAT e-Invoice connector.
Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)
Credit-note data is transmitted only to the GRA VSDC endpoint you configure. Sandbox and production endpoints default to the documented GRA environments and remain fully editable. Your VSDC API key / bearer token is stored only on your own database — nothing is bundled or shared. Built on the shared e-Invoice Core Engine and compatible with Odoo 18 and 19.
