Ghana SSNIT Declaration
Generate the monthly SSNIT Tier-1 and mandatory Tier-2 contribution report from employee basic salaries — ready for the SSNIT employer portal and your Tier-2 corporate trustee.
What this app does
Ghana's 3-tier contributory pension scheme requires every employer to remit a mandatory contribution of 18.5% of each worker's basic salary — 5.5% from the employee and 13% from the employer. Of that total, 13.5% goes to the Basic National Social Security Scheme managed by SSNIT (Tier 1) and 5% goes to the worker's licensed private corporate trustee under the mandatory occupational scheme (Tier 2).
This app turns the SSNIT fields you already keep on each employee into a clean monthly declaration: it computes every contribution leg, applies the statutory Maximum Insurable Earnings ceiling, and exports the files you upload to the SSNIT employer portal and hand to your trustee. It is a pure report/file generator — it never connects to SSNIT on your behalf and never stores any government credential.
Accurate statutory rates
- Employee 5.5% & employer 13% of basic salary (18.5% total).
- Tier 1 = 13.5% to SSNIT; Tier 2 = 5% to the trustee.
- Maximum Insurable Earnings ceiling (GHS 61,000/month) applied to the contribution base.
- All rates and the ceiling are editable per company — adapt to each annual MIE review without a code change.
One-click report files
- Tier-1 SSNIT report (CSV): SSNIT number, surname, other names, basic salary, 13.5% amount, with control totals.
- Tier-2 trustee schedule (CSV) for the occupational scheme.
- Reconciliation CSV showing employee, employer, Tier-1, Tier-2 and total per member for audit.
- Canonical file names keyed on your employer number and the period.

| Identifier validation | Structural checks for SSNIT employer/member numbers and the Ghana Card PIN format. |
| BYOK transmission | You upload the generated files with your own SSNIT portal / trustee access; no credentials are stored in Odoo. |
How it works
- Set your SSNIT employer number, Tier-2 trustee and the Maximum Insurable Earnings ceiling on the company.
- Record each worker's SSNIT number and basic salary on the employee form.
- Create the month's SSNIT Declaration, click Populate Employees then Compute.
- Generate the Tier-1 report, Tier-2 schedule and reconciliation CSV, then file them through your own SSNIT portal and trustee access.
Scope & compliance note
This module implements the two mandatory tiers of Ghana's pension scheme (Tier 1 and Tier 2). The voluntary Tier 3 top-up is outside its scope. Statutory rates and the Maximum Insurable Earnings ceiling ship with the published defaults and are fully configurable so you stay aligned with each annual SSNIT review. Always confirm the current figures against the official SSNIT schedule for your filing period.
