Hong Kong MPF Payroll for Odoo
Mandatory & voluntary contributions, relevant-income caps, default surcharge & MPFA remittance statement
A focused Mandatory Provident Fund compliance layer for Hong Kong that builds on the Hong Kong payroll localization. It computes mandatory and voluntary MPF contributions per member, applies the monthly and casual daily relevant-income levels, flags late payments with the statutory default surcharge, and exports the MPFA / eMPF Remittance Statement as CSV and Excel — ready to file with your trustee using your own credentials. Compatible with Odoo 18 and Odoo 19, Community and Enterprise.
Mandatory contributions
5% employee and 5% employer of relevant income, with the monthly minimum (HK$7,100) and maximum (HK$30,000) relevant-income levels: below the minimum the employee does not contribute but the employer still does, and both sides are capped at the maximum. Exempt persons and the new-joiner first-contribution-period rule are supported.
Casual daily scale
Casual and Industry Scheme daily-rated employees use the per-day minimum (HK$280) and maximum (HK$1,000) relevant-income levels, applied across the days worked in the contribution period.
Voluntary contributions
Employee and employer voluntary contributions as a percentage of relevant income and/or a fixed amount, with an employer vesting scale. They are tracked and reported separately from the mandatory amount, because only the mandatory portion is governed by the relevant-income levels.
Default surcharge
The contribution day is computed as the 10th of the following month, rolled forward to the next working day. When the payment date is after that day, the statutory 5% default contribution surcharge is added so the amount actually due to the trustee is clear.
MPFA / eMPF remittance statement export
Each contribution period produces a per-member remittance statement — member number, HKID, relevant income and the mandatory and voluntary employee/employer contributions — as a flat CSV data file and a formatted Excel workbook, both reconciling to the same totals. A consolidated wizard rolls multiple periods into a single year-to-date statement. You file the statement and pay your trustee or the eMPF Platform with your own credentials; no employee data leaves Odoo.
Editable statutory defaults
Every rate, relevant-income level and surcharge parameter is a company setting carrying the current statutory default, so you track MPFA revisions without a code change. The pure-Python computation engine is fully unit tested. Confirm the current levels against the latest official MPFA guidance before running live payroll.
