Kuwait WPS Payroll File for Odoo
Generate the Kuwait Wage Protection System salary file (Shaml / MGRP) with PIFSS social security, Civil ID and Kuwaiti IBAN validation — built on Odoo HR, no Enterprise payroll required.

What It Does
This module covers Kuwait payroll compliance on top of the standard hr app. It builds the Wage Protection System salary file uploaded through the banking network's Shaml clearing system — an MGRP header, one EREC record per employee and an MTOT control trailer — computes PIFSS social-security contributions for Kuwaiti and GCC nationals, and validates Kuwaiti IBANs and Civil IDs with their official checksums. The salary file is produced inside Odoo and you upload it through your own bank channel (BYOK).

Shaml / MGRP Salary File
Comma-delimited WPS file with the MGRP header, EREC employee records (Civil ID, IBAN, bank code, basic, allowances, deductions, net) and the MTOT control trailer, in Kuwaiti Dinar with fils precision.
PIFSS Social Security
Public Institution for Social Security contributions for Kuwaiti / GCC nationals (employee 8%, employer 11.5%) on the contributory wage bounded by the statutory floor and ceiling; expatriates excluded automatically.
Kuwaiti IBAN Validation
ISO 13616 / ISO 7064 mod-97 check on the 30-character Kuwaiti IBAN (KW + 2 check digits + 4-letter bank code + 22-character account), with automatic bank-code extraction.
Civil ID Validation
PACI 12-digit Civil ID with the weighted mod-11 check digit and date-of-birth decoding, used as the employee key in the salary file.
How It Works
- Fill the Civil ID, IBAN, bank code and salary structure on each employee's Kuwait WPS tab.
- Set the company's Employer Civil / File No. and Bank / Establishment Code.
- Create a monthly WPS batch — it populates lines from your employees and computes PIFSS totals.
- Generate the Shaml / MGRP file and download it, ready to upload through your bank.
Compatibility & Disclosure
Built on hr and account — runs on Odoo 18 and 19, Community and Enterprise, with no Enterprise hr_payroll dependency.
Disclosure: This module generates the WPS salary file and computes PIFSS contributions from the data you maintain in Odoo. It does not submit data to any government or bank system on your behalf and does not constitute legal, tax or payroll advice; verify the output against your bank's current Shaml specification before upload.
