Complete Texas LLC chart of accounts for Odoo 18 â overlay-only, ships ~100 GAAP accounts with 8.25% TX sales tax, member equity, and 1099 contractor tracking.
What it adds
- ~100 GAAP-style 4-digit accounts (1000-9100) for assets, liabilities, LLC member equity, revenue, COGS, operating expenses, federal/Texas taxes, and suspense.
- Texas Sales Tax 8.25% (state 6.25% + Houston local 2%), Use Tax, Exempt (Consulting Services), Out-of-State Sale.
- Texas Franchise Tax & Margin Tax payable and expense accounts.
- LLC Member Equity structure (Capital, Contributions, Distributions, Draws for "Member 1" â rename in UI to your member).
- 5 bank/cash journals: Operating, Savings, Payroll, Cash on Hand, Credit Card.
- 5 partner tags: 1099 Contractor, W-9 on File, W-9 Missing, TX Resale Certificate, Out-of-State Customer.
Install
- Drop into your
custom_addonspath (e.g./opt/odoo/custom_addons/l10n_us_texas_llc).
- Restart Odoo and update the apps list:
sudo systemctl restart odoo
# In the Odoo UI: Apps -> Update Apps List
- Search for US Texas LLC - Chart of Accounts & Taxes and click Activate.
Post-install
The post-install hook wires the following defaults on the current company:
- Default Sales Tax = TX Sales Tax 8.25% (Houston)
- Default Purchase Tax = TX Use Tax 8.25%
- Default Receivable = 1100 Accounts Receivable
- Default Payable = 2000 Accounts Payable
- Default Revenue (on product.category) = 4000 Consulting Revenue
- Default Expense (on product.category) = 5000 Cost of Services
New products and customers pick these up automatically.
Customize per company
- Member equity: open accounts 3000/3010/3020/3030 and rename "Member 1" to your actual LLC member's name. Duplicate the block for additional members.
- Sales tax rate: if you're not in Houston, edit the TX Sales Tax record under Accounting -> Configuration -> Taxes to your local jurisdiction's combined rate.
- Franchise tax expense: account 6600 is created but not auto-posted; track your filings here annually.
Notes
- Overlay-only â does not delete the existing
generic_coaorl10n_usaccounts. Coexists peacefully and the new accounts use unique XML IDs.
- Tested on: Odoo 18 Community + Odoo 18 Enterprise, US company localization.
