This module hides unnecessary columns from Odoo's Inventory product list — specifically Internal Reference, Cost, Responsible, Forecasted quantity, and Product Tags — leaving only the essential fields visible for warehouse staff.
Key Features:
- Clean Inventory Column Management: The module hides six unnecessary columns from the Inventory product list view using column_invisible — Internal Reference, Cost price, both Responsible columns, Forecasted quantity, and Product Tags. Only Product Name, Sales Price, On Hand quantity.
- Update Product Quantity Dedicated Menu: A separate Update Product Quantity menu shows the stock quant view with Location and Lot columns hidden — giving a focused quantity-only view for stock updates. Staff updating quantities do not need to see lot numbers or location codes they cannot change — only the product name, on-hand quantity are displayed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does hiding columns in the list view affect the form view?
No — column_invisible only hides the column in the list/tree view. Opening any product form still shows all fields normally. Hiding a column does not remove or restrict the field data in any way.
Can I show a hidden column back without uninstalling the module?
Yes — go to Settings → Technical → Views → find product.template.inherit → edit the arch XML and change column_invisible="1" to column_invisible="0" for whichever field you want visible again. No restart needed.
Will this module conflict with Odoo's standard Inventory module?
Currently yes — If the manifest depends only on base and sale the module may fail to install or inherit views incorrectly. Adding stock and product to depends resolves this conflict completely.
