Process Cost Configuration

Go to Manufacturing → Configuration → Settings. Select the manufacture process costing method as Manually or Work-Center.

1. Costing Method — Manually

After setting the process costing method to Manually, go to Products → Bill of Materials and create a Bill of Materials.

Material Cost

Add the components. The Material Cost is calculated automatically based on the components added.

Add Operations

Add the operations to the Bill of Materials to configure labour and overhead costing.

Labour Cost

The Labour Cost is added automatically based on the operations. You can also enter the Cost/Minute manually.

Overhead Cost

The Overhead Cost is added automatically based on the operations. You can also enter the Cost/Minute manually.

Costing Summary in BOM

In the Costing tab, all values are computed automatically based on Material Cost, Labour Cost and Overhead Cost.

Create a Manufacturing Order

Go to Operations → Manufacturing Orders and create a new Manufacturing Order. Setting the Bill of Materials loads all data from the corresponding BOM automatically. You can also add Components and Work Orders which will reflect in costs.

Plan the Manufacturing Order

View the Work Orders and plan the manufacturing order accordingly.

Material, Labour and Overhead — Actual Costs

Go to the Material Cost, Labour Cost and Overhead Cost tabs to change the Actual Quantity and Actual Minutes manually.

Estimated vs Actual Cost

In the Costing tab, both the estimated cost and actual cost are calculated and displayed side by side.

2. Costing Method — Automated Work-Center Process

Go to Configuration → Settings, enable the Work Orders feature and set the Process Costing Method to Work Center.

Configure Work Centers

Go to Configuration → Work Centers and add the Actual Costing details for each work center.

Bill of Materials — Components and Operations

Go to Products → Bill of Materials and configure the Components and Operations.

Auto-Calculated Costs from Work Center

The estimated Material Cost, Labour Cost and Overhead Cost are calculated automatically based on the Work Center configuration.

Total Cost Summary

View the total cost of Material, Labour and Overhead in a consolidated summary.

Manufacturing Order — Work-Center Costing Flow

Create a Manufacturing Order, confirm it, then plan and start the Work Order. The Work Order's real duration is reflected in Labour and Overhead Actual Minutes. Material Actual Quantity comes from the components.

Final Costing Tab

Under the Costing tab you can see all estimated costs and actual costs calculated for the completed manufacturing order.

Cancel Reason for Manufacturing Orders

When you cancel a Manufacturing Order, a popup wizard appears where you can provide a reason before confirming the cancellation.

Manage Cancel Reasons

Under Configuration → Cancel Reasons, view and manage all reasons configured for canceling Manufacturing Orders.

Bill of Material Report

Print the Bill of Material Report directly from the BOM menu.

Manufacturing Orders Report

Print the Manufacturing Order Report directly from the Manufacturing Orders menu.
