POS Auto Lock on Inactivity
Shared and unattended tills are a security risk. This lightweight utility automatically locks the Point of Sale after a set number of minutes of cashier inactivity, returning it to the login screen, the very same lock the built-in Lock button performs. The open order and session are kept intact.
What This Module Does
A small front-office safeguard for shared registers. When a cashier steps away, the till locks on its own, so no sale, refund or customer record can be touched under their identity.
How it works
Install, set a timeout, and every register is protected. Nothing changes about how you ring up a sale.
- Install the module.
- Go to Point of Sale > Settings > “Auto Lock on Inactivity” and set the minutes of inactivity (0 disables it).
- Open a POS session, when the terminal sits idle for that long, it locks back to the login screen.
- The cashier re-selects themselves and continues, the open order is still there.
See It in Action
The inactivity setting, an active session, and the lock screen it returns to.
