Recent Searches

Remembers the last 5 searches you run from the search bar of every list and kanban view and adds a Recent button right beside the search bar that opens your latest queries. Click an entry and that exact search is re-applied, facets and all. History is kept per model, in your own browser: no server data, no new models, nothing to configure.

What This Module Does

You search for the same things all day: an order number, a key customer, a salesperson, a date. Odoo forgets each search the moment you leave the view, so you type it again and again. This module quietly remembers what you searched and puts it back in reach, so repeating a lookup takes one click instead of retyping it.

● Remembers as you search
Every search you apply from the search bar is saved automatically, keeping the five most recent per model, newest first, with duplicates merged. Sale Orders, Invoices, Contacts and every other view each keep their own independent history.
● One click to replay
A Recent button appears right beside the search bar and opens a dropdown of your latest queries. Each entry shows the field and the value you searched. Click one and the exact facet is applied again instantly.
● Private and clean
History lives in your browser's local storage: nothing is written to the database and nothing is shared with other users. Remove any entry with its per-row remove control, and uninstalling the module leaves no trace behind.
Pure frontend. The module depends only on web, adds no new models, no cron jobs and no settings, and works on the search bar of every list and kanban view, standard or custom. Install it and it just works.

How it works

Zero configuration: install it and every search bar starts remembering.

  1. Install the module. A Recent button appears beside the search bar of every list and kanban view.
  2. Search as you always do: pick a suggestion like Search Customer for: Gemini Furniture or Search Order for: S00040. Each applied search is saved automatically, keeping the last 5 per model.
  3. Later, click the Recent button on that view and your latest queries are listed with their field and value.
  4. Click an entry to re-apply that exact search in one click, or use the × on a row to remove it from the history.
Note: History is stored per model and per browser in local storage, so it is private to you on that device and never touches the server. No new database tables are created, and uninstalling the module leaves your database exactly as it was.
