Website Announcement Bar

Show a slim, dismissible bar at the very top of every page on your website with a custom message, an optional call-to-action link, and your own background and text colors. Perfect for sales, free-shipping thresholds, holiday hours or launch news. When a visitor clicks the close button, the bar stays hidden for them. Change the message later and it re-appears for everyone. Everything is set from Website settings, with no code and no template editing.

What this module does

Announce promotions, policies and news where everyone will see them, without redesigning your site. The bar sits above the header on every page and is built on Odoo 19’s website Interactions framework, so it is lightweight and it changes nothing else on your site.

● Your message, your link
Type any message and, if you like, add a call-to-action link (label plus URL) that points anywhere, such as your /shop, a landing page or an external site.
● Match your brand
Pick the background and text colors with a color picker, so the bar fits your theme instead of fighting it. Great for seasonal campaigns and brand refreshes.
● Dismiss and remember
A close button lets each visitor dismiss the bar, and it stays hidden for them on the next page. Update the message and the bar automatically re-appears for everyone.

How it works

From install to a live announcement in a few clicks. Everything is configured from Website settings.

  1. Install the module (it depends on website).
  2. Go to Website → Configuration → Settings and open the Announcement Bar section.
  3. Turn on Announcement Bar and type your message.
  4. Optionally add a link label and link URL for a call to action.
  5. Pick the background color and text color to match your theme, then Save.
  6. Open your website: the bar appears at the very top of every page.
  7. Visitors can dismiss it; it stays hidden until you change the message.
Note: The bar shows only when it is enabled and a message is set, so it never appears empty. In multi-website setups each website has its own message, link and colors. Dismissal is remembered per visitor and is keyed to the message text, so editing the message brings the bar back for everyone.
