Website Minimum Order Amount

Set a minimum order value shoppers must reach before they can proceed to checkout. While the cart is below the minimum they see “Add X more to reach the Y minimum order” in the order’s own currency, and the Checkout button stays disabled. The rule is enforced on the server too, so it cannot be bypassed. One setting, per website. No code and no template editing.

What this module does

Very small orders often cost more to pack and ship than they earn. Odoo has no built-in way to stop them. This module adds a minimum order amount to your eCommerce checkout: shoppers below the minimum get a clear message telling them exactly how much more to add, and they simply cannot proceed until they reach it.

● A clear "add X more" nudge

The cart tells shoppers exactly how much more to add to reach the minimum, formatted in the order’s own currency, so the message is always accurate.

● Checkout button disabled

While the cart is below the minimum, the Checkout button is disabled and express checkout is hidden, so shoppers can only continue once the minimum is met.

● Enforced on the server

The minimum is re-checked on the checkout and payment steps, so it holds even against a direct URL or a crafted request. The browser lock is a convenience, not the only guard.

How it works

From install to a live minimum in a few clicks. Everything is configured from Website settings.

Install the module (it depends on website_sale, the Odoo eCommerce app).
Go to Website → Configuration → Settings and open the Minimum Order Amount section.
Set your Minimum Amount (in the website’s currency), then Save.
Open your shop and add items to the cart: while the total is below the minimum, the cart shows the nudge and the Checkout button is disabled.
Once the cart total reaches the minimum, the button unlocks and checkout proceeds as normal.

Note: The minimum applies only when it is above zero and the cart is not empty. Set it to 0 to switch the feature off. In multi-website setups each website has its own minimum and currency. The comparison uses the cart’s total (the same amount shown in the cart summary).

In Website → Configuration → Settings, set the Minimum Order Amount in the website’s currency (here $50.00). Set it to 0 to disable the minimum.

With a $36.00 cart the shopper sees “Add $14.00 more to reach the $50.00 minimum order”, and the Checkout button is greyed out so they cannot proceed yet.

3. Minimum met: nudge gone, Checkout unlocked

Once the cart reaches $50.00 or more, the nudge disappears and the Checkout button turns solid and active, so the shopper can continue to checkout as normal.
