📦 Odoo captures back-in-stock signups, then throws the data away. We keep it, and tell you what to reorder.

Back-in-Stock Demand & Low-Stock Urgency

Odoo’s eCommerce already lets shoppers ask to be notified when a product is back in stock, but it deletes that waiting list the moment you restock, so you never learn how much demand there really was. This module keeps every signup, turns it into a “what to reorder” report, and upgrades the plain “X in stock” line into a colour-coded “Only N left, order soon!” urgency badge. Built on website_sale_stock.

Keeps the Demand Data What-to-Reorder Report Waiting-Customers Button “Only N Left” Urgency Badge
Back-in-Stock Demand and Low-Stock Urgency - keep the back-in-stock waiting list Odoo discards and see what to reorder

Built on Odoo’s native back-in-stock, here’s what we add

We want to be upfront: Odoo 19 eCommerce already does part of this out of the box. This module does not replace that, it sits on top of it and fills the gaps that cost you reorders.

Already in Odoo How it works natively
On an out-of-stock product, shoppers can click “Get notified when back in stock” and leave their email. Odoo stores it and auto-emails them when the product is restocked. It can also show a plain “X units in stock” message once quantity drops below a threshold. We keep all of this exactly as-is.
This module adds What you get on top
Keeps the demand. Odoo wipes the waiting list the instant you restock, so the merchant never learns how much demand there was. We log every signup and keep it.
“What to reorder” report. A pivot/graph of the most-requested out-of-stock products, with how many customers are waiting and since when.
Waiting-customers smart button on each product, plus a configurable “Only N left, order soon!” urgency badge (threshold, text and colour per website).
In short: Odoo answers “email this shopper when it’s back”. This module also answers “how many people wanted it, and what should I reorder first?”

What This Module Does

Every back-in-stock signup is a customer telling you exactly what to buy. Instead of letting Odoo erase that signal at restock, this turns it into demand data, a reorder report, and on-page urgency.

● Keep the demand data Odoo discards
Odoo deletes the waiting list the moment a product is restocked. This logs every back-in-stock signup and keeps it permanently, so the demand survives the restock and you can finally measure it.
● Know what to reorder first
A Restock Demand report (pivot and graph) ranks the most-requested out-of-stock products, showing how many customers are waiting and since when, so you buy what people actually want.
● “Only N left” urgency badge
Replaces Odoo’s plain “X in stock” text with a colour-coded “Only N left, order soon!” badge that nudges shoppers to buy now. Threshold, wording and colour are configurable per website.
A per-product “waiting customers” smart button lets you open the list of everyone who asked about any product, straight from its form, without digging through emails.

How it works

Install it, keep selling as normal, and let every back-in-stock request build your reorder picture.

  1. Install the module on top of website_sale_stock, your existing “notify me when back in stock” flow keeps working exactly as before.
  2. A shopper hits an out-of-stock product and clicks “Get notified when back in stock”. Odoo emails them later, and we log the signup as demand at the same time.
  3. Open the Restock Demand report (pivot/graph) to see the most-requested out-of-stock products, the number of customers waiting, and how long they have waited.
  4. On any product, hit the Waiting Customers smart button to see exactly who asked. Tune the “Only N left” badge threshold, text and colour per website.
Note: This module builds on Odoo’s native back-in-stock feature, it does not replace it. Odoo still emails waiting shoppers when you restock, this module keeps the demand record Odoo would otherwise delete, adds the reorder report, the waiting-customers button and the urgency badge. Depends on website_sale_stock.

See It in Action

From the per-website setting, to the on-page urgency badge, to the report that tells you what to reorder, to the customers waiting on each product.

1. Configure The Low-Stock Urgency Badge setting in Website settings, set the threshold and message per website

2. Storefront The colour-coded “Only N left, order soon!” urgency badge on a product page, replacing Odoo’s plain “X in stock” text

3. Restock Demand The Restock Demand report (pivot/graph) ranking the most-requested out-of-stock products, exactly what to reorder first

4. Waiting Customers The waiting-customers list with the per-product requests, demand Odoo would have deleted on restock
