Stop losing your place every time you jump to another record. A tab strip below the main navbar keeps several actions open at once, and each tab remembers its full breadcrumb trail, so switching back restores the exact screen you left. Need two records at the same time? Drag a tab to the right edge and it docks into a resizable split view. Your tabs, active tab and split layout are saved per user and come back after a page reload. Pure frontend: no new models, depends only on web.

What this module does

The stock Odoo web client shows one action at a time, so real work means juggling browser tabs that each reload the whole client and forget where you were. This app adds a lightweight tab strip inside the backend itself: open a quotation in one tab, its customer in another, a report in a third, and hop between them instantly. Every tab stores its whole breadcrumb stack, so a tab that was three levels deep reopens three levels deep. And when you need two things on screen at once, one drag docks a tab into a side-by-side split pane, perfect for comparing a sales order with its invoice or copying data between records.

● Tabs that remember everything
A clean tab bar sits just below the main navbar. Each tab keeps its full breadcrumb trail, so switching tabs restores the exact list, form or nested screen you left. Reorder tabs with drag and drop, rename them inline to label your work, and use the right-click menu to duplicate a tab, close the others or close everything to the right.
● Drag a tab into a split view
Drag any tab toward the right edge of the screen and it docks into a resizable split pane, giving you two live records side by side. Compare a sales order with its invoice, keep a reference record open while you edit another, or copy values across without ever losing context. Drag the divider to resize, and close the pane to go back to a single view.
● Persistent, fast and zero-footprint
Your tab set, active tab and split layout persist per user (stored per database and user in the browser), so a page reload brings your whole workspace back. Power users fly with shortcuts: Ctrl+Alt+N opens a tab, Ctrl+Alt+W closes it, Ctrl+Alt+Left and Ctrl+Alt+Right cycle through tabs. Pure frontend, no new models, no database changes: it depends only on web.

How it works

Install it and start multitasking. There is nothing to configure.

  1. Install the module: the tab strip appears below the main navbar for every backend user, with your current screen as the first tab.
  2. Open more tabs with the + button or Ctrl+Alt+N, then navigate anywhere in each tab. Every tab keeps its own breadcrumb stack as you drill into records.
  3. Switch tabs by clicking, or cycle with Ctrl+Alt+Left and Ctrl+Alt+Right. Each switch restores the exact screen, including nested breadcrumbs.
  4. Organize your workspace: drag tabs to reorder them, double-click to rename a tab inline, and right-click for duplicate, close others and close to the right.
  5. Split the screen: drag a tab to the right edge to dock it into a resizable split pane and work on two records side by side; drag the divider to adjust the layout.
  6. Reload without fear: tabs, the active tab and the split layout are saved per user and per database, and restored automatically on the next page load.
Note: The module is pure frontend. It adds no models, no fields and no server-side logic, and its only dependency is web. Layout state lives in the browser per database and user, so uninstalling leaves your database exactly as it was.
