Block any document state transition until a designated approver explicitly clicks Approve or Reject - directly on the document, no separate app needed.

The Problem
Critical transitions happen without any human gate
Sale orders confirm, invoices post, and purchase orders are sent without any mandatory review step. One misclick by a junior user can trigger an irreversible action. Odoo's native Approvals app creates detached approval requests - the original document transitions anyway if the user bypasses it.

Define when the gate activates using any safe_eval expression: amount > threshold, discount > limit, or any field comparison.

Up and Running
Install once — works automatically
Step 1 - Install
Install Approval Gate Rule Engine. No additional configuration required at this stage.
Step 2 - Install a satellite
Install any Approval Gate satellite (e.g. mjb_approve_so_high_value for high-value SO approval). The gate rule is pre-configured.
Step 3 - Configure threshold
Go to Settings > Technical > Approval Gate Rules, open the rule, set your threshold value and approver, then enable.
Done - gate is active
The next time a user tries to confirm a high-value SO, the Approve/Reject buttons will appear and block the transition until approved.
