The Problem
Low stock situations go unnoticed until it is too late
Odoo's reorder rules trigger replenishment, but there is no built-in alert when stock actually drops below the reorder point. Warehouse managers find out about shortages at picking time, not before. Proactive notification is missing from the standard workflow.

Daily automatic check
A scheduled rule checks all storable products every day and posts a chatter alert on any product whose qty_on_hand is below the reorder point.

Deduplication logic
Once alerted, the same product will not generate a duplicate alert on the same day - even if the check runs multiple times.

Auto-clears on recovery
When stock is replenished above the reorder point, the alert status clears automatically on the next check.

Warehouse manager notified
The chatter alert notifies the product's responsible user and any followers - no manual monitoring required.

Install once — works automatically
Step 1 - Install
Install Low Stock Product Alert. The Smart Reminder Engine installs automatically.
Step 2 - Set reorder points
Ensure your storable products have reorder rules configured (Inventory > Operations > Replenishment). The alert uses the reorder minimum quantity.
Done - daily alerts are active
The rule runs daily. Any product below its reorder point will receive a chatter alert notifying the responsible user.

Requires reorder rules to be configured on products - products without reorder points are not checked
Alert frequency is daily - real-time stock monitoring requires a custom rule
Service and consumable products are excluded (storable products only)
