⚠ The Problem
CRM leads in Odoo have no built-in reference number. Teams end up referencing leads by name or internal ID — leading to confusion in emails, meetings, and support tickets when two leads share similar names or when names change as leads progress.

⚙ Automatic Numbering
Every new lead is stamped with LEAD-00001, LEAD-00002… at creation. No manual input ever needed.
🔒 No-Overwrite Guard
If a reference already exists on a lead, the automation skips it. Existing references are never overwritten.
⏻ Runtime Kill-Switch
Disable stamping via system parameter mjb_seq_crm_lead.enabled = 0 â no uninstall needed. Sequence resumes where it left off when re-enabled.
🔍 Visible Everywhere
Reference appears in the lead form and list views. Prefix and padding customizable via Settings → Technical → Sequences.

Install mjb_sequence_rule first — this satellite depends on it.
Install mjb_seq_crm_lead. Sequencing activates immediately — no further setup needed.
New leads are stamped automatically. Customize prefix and padding via Settings → Technical → Sequences.
ℹ Scope & Limitations
- Triggers on lead creation only — does not retroactively number existing leads
- Requires CRM module (crm) installed
- Does not modify lead names or other fields — reference field only
