⚠ The Problem
HR applicants in Odoo have no built-in reference number. Recruiters discuss candidates by name — causing confusion when multiple applicants share similar names, or when a candidate applies for different roles across different stages.

⚙ Automatic Numbering
Every new applicant receives APPL-00001, APPL-00002… at creation. No manual input ever needed.
🔒 No-Overwrite Guard
If a reference already exists, the automation skips it. Existing references are never overwritten.
⏻ Runtime Kill-Switch
Disable via system parameter mjb_seq_hr_applicant.enabled = 0 — no uninstall needed. Sequence resumes where it left off.
🔍 Visible Everywhere
Reference appears in the applicant form and list views. Prefix and padding customizable via Settings → Technical → Sequences.

Install mjb_sequence_rule first — this satellite depends on it.
Install mjb_seq_hr_applicant. Sequencing activates immediately.
New applicants are stamped automatically. Customize via Settings → Technical → Sequences.
ℹ Scope & Limitations
- Triggers on applicant creation only — does not retroactively number existing applicants
- Requires Recruitment module (hr_recruitment) installed
- Does not modify applicant names or other fields — reference field only
- Requires MJB Sequence Rule Engine (
