Build configurable accounting report lines with flexible Chart of Accounts filtering
Overview
Dynamic Account Reports lets you build your own accounting reports instead of being locked into Odoo's built-in ones. Each report is made of configurable lines: a "Header" line that sums its children or combines other lines with a formula (e.g. CODE1 + CODE2 - CODE3), or an "Accounts" line that pulls its balance from the Chart of Accounts, filtered either by a domain (e.g. account type) or a manual account selection. Six ready-to-use reports are included out of the box â General Ledger, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, Cash Flow Statement and Partner Ledger â and you're free to edit them or build entirely new ones.
Key Features
- Build unlimited custom reports from configurable lines: headers with formulas or auto sum-of-children, and account lines filtered by domain or manual selection
- 6 ready-to-use reports included: General Ledger, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Profit and Loss, Cash Flow Statement and Partner Ledger
- Toggle Debit / Credit / Balance columns independently per report
- Optional Initial Balance and Ending Balance column groups (handy for a Trial Balance), following the same Debit/Credit/Balance toggles
- Filter by date range, journals, accounts and analytic accounts, posted/unposted entries, plus multiple comparison periods
- Balance Type per account line â Current Period, Initial Balance (cumulative up to day before period start), or Ending Balance (cumulative up to period end) â useful for beginning/ending balance rows in Cash Flow reports
- Fold/unfold any account line to drill down into the individual accounts, with one click access to its Journal Items
- Optional journal item domain filter per account line (e.g. restrict to debit-only entries)
- Hide zero-balance lines automatically
- Export any report to XLSX or PDF
- Draft / Published workflow â a report only gets its own reporting menu once published
