The Cashier Discount Limit From POSmodule extends the Point of Sale capabilities in Odoo by providing businesses with precise controlover how much discount cashiers can apply during sales. It enables administrators to define maximum discount limits at both the product and POS product category levels, ensuring consistent pricing policies across all transactions. The module supports both fixed amount and percentage-based discount limits, and it can be configured individually for product variants, offering flexibility to meet diverse business requirements.

With real-time validation in the POS interface, the system instantly checks applied discounts and prevents cashiers from exceeding the allowed limit. If a user attempts to apply a higher discount, a warning message is displayed and the payment process is blocked until the discount is adjusted within the permitted range. What types of discount limits are supported?
The module supports both fixed amount discounts and percentage-based discount limits.
Go to the Point of Sale module.
Click Configuration, then click Settings.
Navigate to the Pricing section, enable the "Enable Discount Limit from POS" option, and click the Save button to apply the changes.
Click on Products, then select Product Variants to navigate to the Product Variants page.
Search for the product to which you want to apply the discount limit.
Click on "Point of Sale" to navigate to the Point of Sale section.
Set the Discount Type to “Fixed,” specify the desired Discount Limit, click Save, and then navigate to the Point of Sale.
Click on “Open Register” to start a new POS session.
Select the product to which you applied the discount limit.
If applicable, select the product variant to which the discount limit was applied.
Apply the discount in the POS up to the maximum allowed value from the Product Discount Limit section. If the discount exceeds this limit, a warning appears, and the Pay button cannot proceed to the payment screen.
Click the Backend button to navigate to the backend interface.
Click on Products, then select Product Variants to navigate to the Product Variants page.
Click on "Point of Sale" to navigate to the Point of Sale section.
Select the Discount Type as “Percentage,” apply the desired discount limit to the product, click Save, and then navigate back to the Point of Sale.
Click on “Continue Selling” to resume sales in the POS.
Apply the discount percentage up to the maximum value defined in the Product Discount Limit in the Product Section. If the discount exceeds this limit, a warning will be displayed, and the Pay button will not allow proceeding to the payment screen.
Click the Backend button to navigate to the backend interface.
Click on Products, then select Product Variants to navigate to the Product Variants page.
Remove the previously applied discount percentage from the product, click Save, then go to Configuration → POS Product Categories to navigate to the POS Product Categories section.
Navigate to the desired POS Product Category.
Choose “Fixed” as the Discount Type, enter the desired Discount Limit, and save the changes.
Click on Products, then select Product Variants to navigate to the Product Variants page.
Select the POS Product Category that you previously configured, click Save, and then navigate back to the Point of Sale.
Click on “Continue Selling” to resume sales in the POS.
Apply the discount percentage up to the maximum value defined in the Product Discount Limit in the Pos Product Category Section. If the discount exceeds this limit, a warning will be displayed, and the Pay button will not allow proceeding to the payment screen.
Click the Backend button to navigate to the backend interface.
Navigate to Configuration → POS Product Categories to navigate to the POS Product Categories section.
Navigate to the desired POS Product Category.
Set the Discount Type to “Percentage” specify the desired Discount Limit, click Save, and then navigate to the Point of Sale.
Click on “Continue Selling” to resume sales in the POS.
