One-click takeover
A Log in as User button on the user form, plus a Log in as User entry in the Users list action menu. No password required.
One-click return
A red systray indicator shows who you are impersonating and returns you to your own account instantly â no re-login.
Admin-only & safe
Restricted to a dedicated security group (auto-granted to system administrators). Anti-escalation guards prevent taking over higher-privileged accounts or the superuser.
Reason prompt & audit log
Every takeover asks for a reason and is stored in a persistent audit log â who, whom, when, why, IP and duration â plus a server-log entry.
Odoo 18 & 19
A single, clean code base that installs on both major versions.
English & German
Fully translatable; English and Deutsch (de_DE) translations are included out of the box.
How it works
Impersonation swaps your browser session to the selected user and recomputes the session token â the exact mechanism Odoo uses during a normal login. No password is read or stored. Your own user id is kept in the session so a single click restores it.
1. Pick a user
Open a user and click Log in as User.
2. Work as them
Browse Odoo with their menus, records and access rights.
3. Return
Click the systray indicator to switch back.
