🏗️ Create the Budget
Go to Accounting › Budget Control. Click New and set a name, department or analytic account, and the budget's date range.
💰 Set the Spending Limit
Enter the budget amount. Enable Block Overspend if you want the system to actively prevent spending beyond the limit.
📊 Spending Tracked in Real Time
Spent amount, remaining amount, and utilization percentage are computed automatically as transactions post against the budget.
✅ Approve the Budget
Approve the budget to activate spending tracking and enforcement for its period.
🔒 Close the Period
Close the budget once its date range ends, locking in the final utilization for reporting.
