Customer Reply
Notifier

When a customer replies to a Sale Order, Invoice, or Purchase Order email, an activity is automatically created for the responsible user - so no reply ever goes unnoticed.

THE PROBLEM

Customer replies get missed

When customers reply to quotation or invoice emails, the reply appears in the document chatter - but the responsible salesperson or accountant has no automatic notification. Important customer responses get buried and forgotten.

THE SOLUTION

Auto activity created instantly

This module uses Odoo Automation Rules to detect every incoming customer reply and immediately creates a To-Do activity for the responsible user on that exact document - with a preview of the reply in the activity note.

SALE ORDER

Sale Order Replies

When a customer replies to a sent quotation or sale order email, an activity is created for the assigned salesperson on that sale order.

INVOICE

Invoice Replies

When a customer replies to a sent invoice email, an activity is created for the invoice responsible user - only on customer invoices, not vendor bills.

PURCHASE ORDER

Purchase Order Replies

When a vendor replies to a sent RFQ or purchase order email, an activity is created for the responsible buyer on that purchase order.

REPLY PREVIEW

Reply in Activity Note

The activity note includes a preview of the customer's reply message so the user can read it without opening the document chatter.

NO DUPLICATES

Duplicate Prevention

If a customer sends multiple replies in the same day, only one activity is created per document. Existing pending activities are not duplicated.

Odoo Automation Rules

Built using Odoo's native Automation Rules - no custom Python models, no cron jobs. Runs on message creation trigger. Fully visible and editable in Settings.

HOW IT WORKS

Powered by Odoo Automation Rules

Each document type (Sale Order, Invoice, Purchase Order) has its own automation rule that triggers on message creation. When an incoming email is detected from a non-internal user, it executes the code to create a To-Do activity for the responsible person - with the customer's reply preview included in the note.

SETUP

Install and it works immediately

No configuration required. Three automation rules are created automatically on install.

Install the module

Search Customer Reply Notifier in Apps and install. Three automation rules are created automatically for Sale Order, Invoice, and Purchase Order.

Send a quotation or invoice to a customer

Send any Sale Order, Invoice, or Purchase Order email from Odoo as normal. The automation rules are already watching for incoming replies.

Customer replies → activity appears

When the customer replies, a To-Do activity named "Customer replied" is created on that document for the responsible user - with a preview of the message in the note.

View or customize the rules

Go to Settings → Technical → Automation Rules to see and edit all three rules. You can change activity type, summary text, or deadline logic as needed.
