Payment Internal Transfer | Odoo Accounting Internal Transfer
A flexible internal payment transfer solution for Odoo Accounting that lets you move payments between accounts and journals directly from the payment form - with automatic journal entries and zero disruption to your existing payment flow.
Features
- 🔁 Account to Account - Transfer payments directly between two accounts with auto journal entries.
- 📒 Journal to Journal - Move payments between journals seamlessly with automatic accounting entries.
- 🔀 Account to Journal - Flexible cross-transfer between an account and a journal in one step.
- ✅ Base inbound/outbound payment flow remains fully intact - no disruption to existing workflows.
- ⚡ Integrated directly into the payment form - no extra menus or steps needed.
🔁 Account to Account Transfer
Enable Internal Transfer on the payment form and select Account to Account as the transfer type. Choose the From Account and To Account — a journal entry is automatically generated on confirmation.
📄 Account to Account — Journal Entry
After confirming the payment, Odoo automatically creates a journal entry debiting the destination account and crediting the source account — no manual entry needed.
📒 Journal to Journal Transfer
Select Journal to Journal as the transfer type and pick the Destination Journal. Two paired journal entries are created automatically — one in the source journal and one in the destination journal — reconciled via the company's transfer account.
📄 Journal to Journal — Entry 1 (Source)
The first journal entry is posted in the source journal, crediting the source account and debiting the transit/transfer account.
📄 Journal to Journal — Entry 2 (Destination)
A second paired journal entry is automatically created in the destination journal, crediting the transfer account and debiting the destination account. Both entries are reconciled automatically.
🔍 Internal Transfer Filter
Quickly find all internal transfer payments using the dedicated Internal Transfer filter in the Payments list view — no need to scroll through all payments manually.
Internal Transfer Configuration ⚙️
Configure internal transfers directly from the Accounting → Payments form. Select the transfer mode that fits your use case:
- Account to Account – Select source and destination accounts. Journal entries are auto-generated.
- Journal to Journal – Pick source and destination journals. Two paired entries are created and reconciled via the company transfer account.
- Journal to Account – Transfer from a journal's default account to a specific account.
- Account to Journal – Cross-transfer from a specific account to a journal's default account.
The base inbound/outbound payment flow remains fully intact — internal transfer is an additive option only.
