Add Internal & Customer-Facing Notes Per Line
This Odoo Sales extension by Odonity adds per-line note capabilities to every Sale Order, giving your sales team full internal commenting power and structured customer communication directly within the quotation line items.

- 👤 Customer Note per line — printed below each product line on the quotation PDF
- 🔒 Internal notes auto-logged in the Sale Order chatter as internal messages (with before/after diff)

- 📄 Zero-impact on existing orders — note fields are empty by default
- 🔄 Notes are preserved when duplicating quotations (copy=True)
Installation
- Copy this module into your Odoo custom addons directory.
- Restart the Odoo server.
- Activate Developer Mode (Settings → Activate the developer mode).
- Navigate to Apps → Update Apps List.
- Search for "Sale Order Line Notes" and click Install.
How to Use
Internal Notes per Line
- Open any Quotation or Sale Order.
- In the Order Lines tab, find the "Internal Note" column (amber-tinted).
- Type your internal comment directly in the cell next to any product line.
- This note is NEVER printed on the customer PDF.
- When you save the record, an internal log note appears automatically in the chatter showing what changed.
Customer Notes per Line
- In the Order Lines tab, find the "Customer Note" column.
- Type the note you want the customer to see below that product line.
- When the quotation or order PDF is printed or emailed, the note appears in italics below the corresponding product row.
Column Visibility
- Use the column toggle icon (top-right of the order lines table) to show/hide the Internal Note and Customer Note columns per your preference.
- This is a per-user UI setting and does not affect data.
