This Odoo Sales extension by Odonity brings professional margin visibility and control to every sale order — available for both Community and Enterprise users.
Overview
Odoo Community provides no margin tracking on sale orders. Even Enterprise users lack color-coded warnings and a minimum margin enforcement gate. Sale Order Line Margin Pro fills that gap with a lightweight, clean, and fully configurable margin management layer built directly into the sales workflow.
Every sale order line shows real-time margin and margin % based on the product cost versus the discounted selling price. Color-coded rows instantly surface at-risk or below-minimum lines. When a line drops below the configured minimum margin, the order is blocked until a designated Margin Approver unlocks it.

Default thresholds (configurable per company):
- Healthy: 15%

Installation
- Copy this module into your Odoo custom addons directory.
- Restart the Odoo server.
- Activate Developer Mode (Settings > Activate Developer Mode).
- Go to Apps, click Update Apps List.
- Search for Margin Pro and install.
- Go to Sales > Configuration > Settings to configure your margin thresholds.
- Assign the Margin Approver group to the relevant sales managers.
Usage
- Open any Sale Order or Quotation.
- Add products — the Margin, Margin %, and color coding appear automatically on each line.
- The stats bar shows the total order margin and margin %.
- If any line falls below the Minimum Margin and approval is required: - A warning banner appears on the order. - The order cannot be confirmed until a Margin Approver clicks Approve Margin.
- Approvers can also reset approval if pricing is revised.
Configuration
Navigate to Sales > Configuration > Settings > Margin Pro to configure:
- Healthy Margin Threshold (%) — Lines at or above this show green (default: 15%)
- Warning Margin Threshold (%) — Lines above minimum but below healthy show orange (default: 5%)
- Minimum Margin (%) — Lines below this show red and trigger the approval gate (default: 0%)
- Require Approval Below Minimum Margin — Toggle the approval gate on/off
Security Groups
- Margin Approver — Can approve or reset margin approval on blocked orders. Assign to Sales Managers.
