WebCast Pro by Odonity gives your marketing and operations team complete control over website-wide announcement bars with scheduling, audience targeting, analytics, and rich customization — all managed from the Odoo backend.

Installation

  1. Copy the odnt_webcast_pro folder into your Odoo custom addons directory.
  2. Restart the Odoo server.
  3. Activate Developer Mode (Settings → Activate Developer Mode).
  4. Go to Apps, click Update Apps List.
  5. Search for WebCast Pro and click Install.

How To Use

  1. Navigate to WebCast Pro → Broadcasts → Broadcast Bars.
  2. Click New to create a broadcast.
  3. Enter your message, choose display mode, position, and colors.
  4. Set your target audience and optionally restrict to one website.
  5. Set a start and end date if you want automatic scheduling.
  6. Click Activate to go live immediately.
  7. Visit your website — the bar will appear based on your settings.
  8. Track engagement in the stat buttons at the top of each record.

Scheduling

  • Set a Start Date to auto-activate the bar at a future time.
  • Set an End Date to auto-expire it when the campaign ends.
  • Leave both blank to show immediately with no expiry.
  • The background scheduler checks every 15 minutes.

Audience Targeting

  • All Visitors — shown to everyone (default)
  • Public (Not Logged In) — shown only to anonymous website visitors
  • Logged-In Users Only — shown only to authenticated users

Analytics

Each broadcast record tracks:

  • Views — incremented once per browser session per bar
  • Clicks — incremented each time the CTA button is clicked
  • Dismissals — incremented each time a user closes the bar
  • Last Shown — timestamp of the most recent view
