Setup & Configuration
Step 1: Install Odoo AI Database Chatbot Apps
Go to the Apps menu in Odoo and install the Odoo AI Database Chatbot app. After installation, a new AI Assistant menu appears in the main menu.
Step 2: Configure AI Provider
Go to the AI Chatbot Configuration menu to set up your AI provider:
• Select Provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
• Enter API Key
• Select Model
Test the configuration to ensure the connection works properly.
Step 3: Define Access Rules
The AI Chatbot intelligently follows Odoo’s built-in record rules and user access rights, ensuring secure and controlled data interaction. It operates based on the default user permissions, so users can only access information their allowed model.
Step 4: Interact with Chatbot
Click the floating chat icon in your allowed module. Ask the chatbot questions in natural language, like 'Show me all my sales orders from this month' or 'What is the total revenue for Q1?'

Installation
📂 Step 1: Copy odoo_ai_database_chatbot Module
Copy the odoo_ai_database_chatbot folder into your Odoo custom addons path.
🛠 Step 2: Enable Developer Mode
Activate Developer Mode in Odoo to allow installation of custom modules.
📦 Step 3: Update Apps List & Install
Go to Apps → Click Update Apps List → Search for Hexahash Odoo AI Chatbot → Click Install.
🔄 Step 4: Restart Odoo Service
Restart your Odoo service to ensure proper module loading.
🕒 Step 5: Configure Device Settings
Navigate to AI Provider Settings settings menu → Configure your API Key and Model → Start interacting with the widget.
Troubleshooting Guide
API Connection Failed
Solution: Verify that your AI Provider's API key is correct and active. Check network connectivity and ensure your server can reach the provider's API endpoints.
Chatbot Cannot Access Data
Solution: The AI respects Odoo's access rights. If the chatbot states it cannot access certain records, ensure the current user has the correct permissions (read access) for those specific records and models.
Unrecognized Models
Solution: If the AI doesn't understand your domain, make sure you use terms that correspond to Odoo's models (e.g., 'Sales Orders' instead of 'Deals'). You can also configure the AI to recognize custom models.
API Connection Error
Solution: Verify your Odoo server logs for any traceback related to the AI API calls. Ensure your API rate limits haven't been exceeded.
