Key Features
Ramadan working hours, Gulf weekend rules, overtime caps with violation flags, OT rate matrix and compliance reporting on attendance
Ramadan Working Hours
Define a Ramadan period per year with reduced daily hours (e.g. 6 hours). Auto-swap working schedules â original hours are safely saved so you can revert after Ramadan ends.
Gulf Weekend Rules
Set the weekend per company â FridayâSaturday, SaturdayâSunday, Friday only or ThursdayâFriday. Apply the rule to rebuild working schedules with the right days off.
OT Caps & Violation Flags
Set standard daily hours and a maximum daily overtime cap per company. Every attendance shows overtime hours, day type, and a violation flag when OT exceeds the limit.
OT Rate Matrix
Maintain a list of overtime rates by day type â normal day (125%), weekend (150%) and public holiday (200%). Each rate links to a work entry type for accurate tracking.
Payroll Integration
Select one or more attendances and use Process Overtime to send OT pay into payslips as extra inputs. Without payroll, a note is added so the amount can be paid manually.
Compliance Report
Choose a date range and optional departments, then print a PDF that groups overtime by employee and highlights who exceeded the legal overtime limits â perfect for audits.
Auto Ramadan Scheduler
A daily background job applies the Ramadan hours automatically on the start date and reverts them on the end date â no manual intervention needed once the period is configured.
Smart Day Type Detection
Every attendance record automatically detects the day type â normal working day, weekend, or public holiday (from the company calendar's global time off). OT rates adjust accordingly.
Multi-Company Ready
Different companies can have different weekend types, standard hours and overtime caps. Ramadan periods and overtime rates are company-specific too.

User guide
Install the module, configure your Gulf weekend and overtime caps, set up Ramadan periods, and let the system enforce working time compliance â with automatic violation flags, rate-based OT processing and printable compliance reports.
1. Install the module
- Open Apps, remove the Apps filter, and search Ramadan & Gulf Working Time Compliance.
- Click Install. The hr, resource, hr_attendance, and hr_work_entry modules are installed automatically.
2. Configure company settings
- Go to Settings > Attendances and configure the Weekend Days (FridayâSaturday, SaturdayâSunday, Friday only or ThursdayâFriday).
- Set Standard Daily Hours (e.g. 8 hours) and Maximum Daily Overtime (e.g. 2 hours). Any attendance exceeding this cap gets a violation flag.
- Click Apply Weekend Rule to rebuild selected working schedules so the chosen weekend days are days off.
3. Set up overtime rates
- Go to Working Time > Configuration > Overtime Rates. Default rates for normal (125%), weekend (150%) and public holiday (200%) are pre-loaded.
- Optionally link each rate to a Work Entry Type for tracking in the attendance calendar.
- On each employee (HR Settings tab), set the Overtime Hourly Rate so monetary amounts can be calculated.
4. Configure Ramadan hours
- Go to Working Time > Ramadan Periods and click Create.
- Set the Start Date, End Date and Reduced Daily Hours (typically 6 hours).
- Select the Working Schedules to adjust and click Apply. The original hours are saved automatically.
- After Ramadan, click Revert to restore the normal hours. A daily cron job can also do this automatically.
5. Day-to-day attendance
- Employees check in and out as usual in Attendances.
- Each attendance record automatically shows Overtime Hours, Day Type (normal, weekend, public holiday), OT Amount, and a Violation Flag when overtime exceeds the cap.
- Weekend and public holiday days are detected automatically from the working schedule and company calendar.
6. Process overtime to payroll
- Select one or more attendance records in the list and choose Process Overtime from the action menu.
- Review the overtime hours, rate and calculated amount. Confirm to proceed.
- If a payroll app is installed, the amount is added to the employee's draft payslip as an extra input. Without payroll, a note is created for manual payment.
- Optionally, a work entry is also created for tracking overtime hours in the calendar.
7. Run the compliance report
- Go to Working Time > Overtime > Compliance Report.
- Choose a date range and optionally filter by departments.
- Click Print to generate a PDF that groups overtime by employee and highlights anyone who exceeded the legal overtime limits â perfect for audits and labour inspections.
