Key Features
Secure your POS terminals with a full-screen lock overlay, server-verified PINs and passwords, and auto-lock on inactivity
Manual lock button
A clear lock button in the POS navbar lets the cashier lock the terminal instantly when they step away.
Auto-lock on inactivity
Lock automatically after 1, 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes of inactivity, or set a custom timeout in minutes per POS.
Lock on session open
Optionally start every POS session in a locked state so each shift begins with a verified unlock.
Lock on cashier change
Re-lock the terminal automatically whenever the active cashier changes, so handovers always require credentials.
Multiple unlock methods
Unlock with Employee PIN, Cashier PIN, Manager Override PIN, or the user's Odoo system password, all configurable per POS.
Server-verified credentials
All PINs and passwords are validated entirely on the server. Unlock PINs are never sent to the browser, only the entered value is checked.
Numeric keypad & password field
An on-screen numeric keypad plus an optional password field on the lock overlay covers touch terminals and keyboard setups alike.
Customizable lock overlay
Full-screen lock shows your logo, cashier, live clock, and a custom message; pick a custom background image per POS.
Manager override
A manager PIN can unlock any locked terminal, perfect for handovers, supervisor checks, and emergency assistance.

- Go to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings and pick the POS to secure.
- Locate the POS Lock Screen section and enable it.
- Pick an Auto-lock timeout: Disabled, 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes, or Custom with your own value in minutes.
- Toggle the unlock methods to allow: Manager Override, Employee PIN, Cashier PIN, and Password unlock.
- Optionally enable Lock on session open and Lock on cashier change.
- Set a custom lock message and pick a custom background image.
- Click Save.
3. Set the unlock PIN per user
- Go to Settings > Users and Companies > Users.
- Open each cashier or manager.
- Open the POS Security tab and enter the unlock PIN for that user.
- Click Save.
4. Lock the terminal
- Manually: click the lock button in the POS navbar to lock the terminal instantly.
- Automatically: the terminal locks after the configured inactivity timeout, when a session opens, or when the cashier changes, depending on your settings.
- The full-screen lock overlay appears and captures every input until a valid unlock.
5. Unlock the terminal
- On the lock overlay, enter an Employee, Cashier, or Manager PIN using the numeric keypad.
- If Password unlock is enabled, switch to the password field and enter your Odoo system password.
