Key Features
Preview every Odoo PDF report on screen with zoom, print, download, and open-in-new-tab, instead of downloading it instantly
On-screen PDF preview
When you click Print, the report opens in a clean preview window instead of downloading the file immediately.
Zoom In & Zoom Out
Use the built-in Zoom In and Zoom Out controls to check fine details before printing or downloading.
Print from preview
A dedicated Print button sends the previewed PDF straight to the printer, no extra steps required.
Download & new tab
Download the PDF, open it in a new tab for sharing, or simply close the preview, all from the toolbar.
Master switch
Turn the whole feature on or off with a single PDF Preview Before Download toggle in General Settings.
All reports or selected
Enable preview for every PDF report in one click, or pick a curated list of Selected Reports.
Per-report toggle
Each report carries its own Preview Before Printing toggle under Settings > Technical > Reporting > Reports.
Non-opted-in reports untouched
Reports that are not opted in fall straight through to Odoo's default download, so existing workflows are not disrupted.
Lightweight & upgrade-safe
Powered by Odoo's own bundled PDF.js viewer; no core patches, no extra Python or JS libraries.

User guide
Install the module, turn on the master switch in General Settings, choose preview for all reports or only selected ones, refresh the browser, and every opted-in report opens in a clean preview window.
1. Install the module
- Open Apps, remove the Apps filter, and search Report PDF Preview.
- Click Install. The module depends only on standard base and web; no extra Python packages or Enterprise modules are required.
2. Turn on the master switch
- Go to Settings > General Settings > Reporting.
- Enable PDF Preview Before Download.
- Choose a mode: Enable Preview For All Reports (default) to preview every PDF report, or Selected Reports to pick a curated list.
3. Pick reports (Selected Reports mode)
- In Selected Reports mode, a report picker appears.
- Add the reports that should use preview, for example Sales Order, Invoice, Purchase Order, Delivery Slip, or any custom report.
- All other reports keep Odoo's default direct-download behaviour.
- Click Save and refresh the web client (Ctrl/Cmd-R) so the new settings load.
4. Toggle a single report
- Go to Settings > Technical > Reporting > Reports.
- Open the report you want to control.
- Flip the Preview Before Printing toggle, save, and refresh the web client.
5. Print & preview
- Click Print on any opted-in report; the preview window opens immediately.
- Use the toolbar to Zoom In, Zoom Out, Print, Download, Open in New Tab, or Close the preview.
- Reports that are not opted in continue to download directly without any change.
