User guide — Sales Target Premium

Set monthly goals, track achievement against real sales and returns, and review performance on a live dashboard.


1. What this module does

It adds Sales Targets under the Sales app: each record covers a salesperson (and team/company) for a given month and year, with lines for products or categories. Odoo computes achieved amounts or quantities from confirmed sales and, where relevant, returns. You also get forecast, ranking, optional badges, a dashboard, and PDF/XLSX tools.


2. Before you go live

  1. Install Sales, CRM, and dependencies, then this module from Apps.
  2. Assign Sales Target User or Sales Target Manager on each user who should see or maintain targets.
  3. Managers get the extra Import Targets menu; all eligible users can open targets, dashboard, and export.
  4. Keep recording confirmed orders and returns as you do today so KPIs stay trustworthy.

3. Creating and running a target

  1. Go to Sales → Sales Targets → Targets and create a target: salesperson, period, target type, and lines.
  2. Use Confirm and Start to move through the workflow; Close when the period ends.
  3. Open Dashboard for portfolio KPIs; use smart buttons to inspect underlying sales lines or return pickings.
  4. Use Import Lines or Export from the form or menus when you work with spreadsheets.

4. Automation and alerts

  • Scheduled jobs can refresh KPIs and badges daily; your administrator can tune cron jobs if needed.
  • Activities may remind sellers about low mid-month pace or targets already beaten—check the chatter on the target.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can two targets exist for the same person and month?
No. The app enforces one target per salesperson, month, year, and company so plans stay unambiguous.
2. What is the difference between User and Manager access?
Users work with their own targets; Managers see every target in the company rules and get the bulk Import menu entry.
3. How are “achieved” numbers calculated?
Figures come from confirmed sales orders in the target period (and margin uses margin fields when the Margin app is installed). Quantity targets subtract relevant returns.
4. Can I change the salesperson after the month starts?
Once a target is in progress or closed, owner and period fields are locked so historical KPIs remain consistent.
5. Do I need extra software for import?
The import wizard expects .xlsx files and uses the openpyxl library on the server; your administrator installs it like any other Python dependency if it is missing.
6. What does the forecast percentage mean?
It projects end-of-month performance using elapsed days in the period—useful to see if you are ahead or behind pace.
7. Which Odoo environments are supported?
The module targets Odoo 19 (Community and Enterprise) and runs on Odoo.sh with standard Sales, Stock, and Web dependencies.
