User guide

Connect your Meta WhatsApp account, approve your templates, and Odoo starts sending order updates and recovering abandoned carts on WhatsApp — with a compliant opt-in.

1. Connect WhatsApp

  1. Open WhatsApp Commerce → Configuration → Settings and enter your WABA ID, Phone Number ID and access token.
  2. Set your Graph API version, then click Test Connection.
  3. Point your Meta webhook to /wa/webhook using your verify token.

2. Approve & bind templates

  1. Copy a bilingual Sample body into Meta Business Manager for approval.
  2. Click Sync Templates, then bind each approved template to a purpose and map its variables.
  3. Set cost controls: marketing cap, minimum cart value and quiet hours.

3. Go live

  • Enable the checkout opt-in and the floating chat button per website.
  • Confirmed website orders now send updates; abandoned carts get WhatsApp reminders.
  • Track everything under Message Log and Cart Recovery.

1. Do I need Odoo Enterprise or a WhatsApp BSP?
No. It talks to the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API directly and runs on Odoo 19 Community — no Enterprise app and no third-party BSP or SaaS.
2. Will customers get messages without consent?
Never. A checkout opt-in stores explicit consent on the customer; no message of any category is sent unless they opted in.
3. How does abandoned-cart recovery work?
A scheduled scan finds idle website carts and sends up to two WhatsApp reminders with a signed link that restores the exact cart — respecting your caps, minimum cart value and quiet hours.
4. Can I see the revenue it brings back?
