Auto Logout Idle User
Automatically log out users after a period of inactivity to protect unattended Odoo sessions. Configured by admin from General Settings.
Configuration
Navigate to Settings → General Settings and find the Auto Logout section. Enable the feature and set the idle timeout in minutes. Click Save.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What happens if I close my laptop or the system goes to sleep?
The elapsed time still counts. When the system wakes up and the browser resumes, the idle period will exceed the threshold and a logout is triggered immediately.
Q: Does mouse movement (without clicking) reset the timer?
No. Only mouse clicks, keyboard input, and switching to the Odoo tab reset the timer.
Q: Does this module slow down the website?
No. The service performs a single comparison every 5 seconds with zero network calls. It has no measurable impact on performance.
Q: Can individual users override the timeout?
No. The timeout is a global setting controlled by the administrator. It applies equally to all users.
Q: What is the minimum timeout I can set?
1 minute. The module enforces a minimum of 60 seconds regardless of the value entered.
