User Password Strength
Enforce strong passwords with configurable rules and a real-time visual strength meter. Administrators define the policy — users see instant feedback as they type.
Configuration
Navigate to Settings → General Settings and find the Password Strength section. Enable the rules you need: minimum length, uppercase, lowercase, digits, and special characters. Click Save.
Real-Time Strength Meter
When a user types a password, the visual strength meter instantly shows how strong it is. Clear error messages indicate exactly which requirements are not yet met.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is this different from Odoo's built-in Password Policy module?
Odoo's built-in module only checks password length. This module adds granular checks for uppercase, lowercase, digits, and special characters, plus a real-time visual strength meter with detailed feedback.
Q: Is validation only client-side?
No. The module validates on both client and server side. The strength meter gives instant visual feedback, but the server also rejects non-compliant passwords when saving.
Q: What is the default policy?
Minimum 8 characters with no other requirements enabled by default. The administrator can enable uppercase, lowercase, digit, and special character requirements as needed.
Q: Where does the strength meter appear?
On all password change forms — both the admin "Change Password" wizard and the user's own password change dialog. It integrates seamlessly with Odoo's existing UI.
