FAQ
Why do I see "GPU / WebGL unavailable"?
Why this happens:
Omni Designer relies on WebGL for rendering. This issue appears when the browser cannot create a valid WebGL context, usually because hardware acceleration is off, GPU is blocked by startup flags or policy, GPU drivers are unavailable, or the app is running in a VM/remote environment without GPU acceleration.
- How to fix: Confirm browser version: Chrome 119+, Firefox 119+, Safari 17.2+, Edge 119+.
- Open chrome://gpu (or edge://gpu) and ensure WebGL/WebGL2 are not disabled.
- Enable browser hardware acceleration, then fully restart the browser.
- Remove restrictive launch flags, then update GPU drivers if needed.
- If you use VM/remote desktop, switch to an environment with real GPU acceleration.
- Check console for:
Failed to mount designer: Error: [ComposeHost] WebGL unavailable
Note: software rendering fallback is currently not supported.
