A prescription never gets lost again — and neither does a sale. |
Exams, appointments, the workshop and the register, all in the same record inside your Odoo — from the first eye test to the invoice.
Sound familiar?
The prescription that goes missingWritten on a slip of paper, filed somewhere, gone the day the patient calls back for a copy. |
“Are my glasses ready?”Every call interrupts the register, and nobody can answer without walking over to the workshop bench to check. |
The till that doesn’t add upCash sales, lab costs and margins live in three different notebooks. Closing the month means reconciling all three by hand. |
Optical MAX keeps the exam, the sale, the workshop and the accounting in the same record.
A day at the optical shop
One patient, one visit, five steps — and one record that follows it all the way to the invoice.
01
Book the appointmentA patient calls. Free slots come straight from that optician’s weekly schedule at that branch — no double-booking, no back-and-forth on the phone. |
|
|
02
Exam and prescriptionOne record covers the whole exam, in tabs: distance and near measures, ophthalmology, contact lens parameters and patient history — instead of three separate notebooks. |

03
Sale at the registerFrom the same POS screen: pull up the prescription, check the customer’s history and pick frames and lenses by attribute, without ever leaving the till. |
|
No walk-in exam room needed — the prescription is captured right at the register. |
|
04
Workshop and labConfirming the sale creates the workshop job on its own. Sending it to the lab raises the purchase order for the RX lens — nobody re-types the specs by hand. |
05
Ready, invoiced, deliveredThe patient gets a message the moment the glasses are back from the lab. The invoice was already generated when the sale closed — nothing left for month-end. |
|
What you get
Grouped the way you actually work — not a wall of identical boxes.
|
Clinical
Clinical prescriptionsOne record for the full eye exam, in tabs: measures, ophthalmology, contact lenses and patient history, with validity and expiry tracking. |
Measurement catalogsSPH, CYL, Axis, Add, Prism, A.V., PD, Height and Base come pre-loaded with 500+ values — pick from a list instead of typing −2.75 by hand and risking a typo. Patients & medical profileDate of birth, computed age, insurance, allergies, chronic conditions, medication and an emergency contact — on every patient record. Graduation evolutionEvery past prescription for a patient side by side in one list — sphere, cylinder, axis and add over the years, so a drifting graduation jumps out at a glance instead of hiding across separate records. |
|
Schedule & branches
Automatic time slotsSet each optician’s weekly hours once and bookable slots are generated for the whole year. The system always offers the soonest free time and skips the days that are full. |
OpticiansA directory with license number, photo, specialties and weekly working hours for every optician. Multiple branchesRun several branches, each with its own address and phone. Opticians can work at one or more, so availability is always shown per branch. Hours reserved by appointment typeRestrict a working-hours block to certain appointment types — e.g. Tuesday mornings only for contact-lens fittings — and those slots stop being offered for a general eye exam, on the website and in the back office alike. Calendar invitesConfirmation and reminder emails carry a calendar (.ics) attachment, so the appointment lands straight on the patient’s phone calendar — fewer no-shows, no extra step for the patient. |
|
Workshop & lab
Workshop ordersThe daily job flow on a kanban board — sent to lab, in progress, ready, delivered — with lab cost, customer price and margin on every job. |
Laboratories & purchasingManage your laboratories; sending a job to the lab automatically creates the purchase order for the RX lens. One sale, every pair trackedSold a distance pair and a reading pair in the same ticket? Each frame+lens pair gets its own workshop job automatically — nothing gets bundled or lost. WhatsApp & email, one clickNotify the customer their glasses are ready, or the optician about a new appointment, with a prefilled WhatsApp message one click away — opens straight in WhatsApp Web or wa.me, your choice per company. |
|
Sale & register
Point of SaleCreate prescriptions, browse the customer’s history, print it and pick glasses by attribute — without ever leaving the register. |
Prescription on the receiptLink a prescription to the POS order and print the measures on the customer receipt, with barcode. Optical catalog, variants & stockFrames, lenses, contact lenses, treatments and services, with attributes like focus, material, color and size that build the variants. Optical products are stockable and tracked by Odoo Inventory. Invoicing & salesCreate a sale order or an invoice in one click from the prescription; confirming the sale creates the workshop order automatically. Insurance & reimbursementInsurance coverage and copay, a professional reimbursement claim form, and claim status tracking — submitted, approved, paid. |
|
Analytics & portal
Dashboard & analyticsLive KPIs and bar charts — workshop by status, prescriptions per month — with a date-range filter, plus pivot and graph views to dig deeper. |
Patient portal & online bookingWith the Website app installed, patients see their prescriptions and job status, and book appointments online by branch, optician (or “anyone available”), day and time. Multi-company & languagesFull per-company data isolation with its own prescription/appointment/job numbering, English and Spanish included, a demo data loader for every company, and settings (charge for the eye exam, WhatsApp mode) that each branch sets on its own. |
What nobody else has
Four things you won’t find in a generic optical add-on.
A visual eye chartClick on an anatomical eye drawing, pick the affected part, and log its treatments as in progress or complete, per eye. |
A register that writes prescriptionsMost optical add-ons stop at selling frames. This one creates the clinical prescription itself, right from the Point of Sale. |
A workshop that buys its own lensesSending a job to the lab doesn’t just change a status — it raises the purchase order for the RX lens on its own. |
Slots generated a year at a timeAppointments are split by branch, with the whole year’s bookable slots generated automatically from each optician’s weekly hours. |
Bring patients back — and get paid faster
A prescription is not the end of the story: it expires, gets renewed, gets invoiced and gets reimbursed. Optical MAX follows it there too.
Renew an expired prescription in one clickExpired prescriptions are flagged right on the record and in the list filters. One click on Renew creates a fresh draft for the same patient, carries the clinical data over and keeps a link back to the original — the exam history never breaks. |
|
|
Contact-lens reorder remindersA scheduled job watches every contact-lens prescription and emails the patient shortly before their supply runs out — recurring lens revenue on autopilot, and each patient is reminded only once per prescription. |
Invoice the workshop job in one clickFrom the workshop order, Create invoice turns the job into a customer invoice with the frame, the lens and the fitting on it — and a smart link keeps the invoice attached to the job, so lab cost, price and margin stay in one place. |
|
|
Insurance claim batches, ready to submitGroup reimbursement claims per insurer into a batch and print a clean, barcoded summary with totals and a signature line — the document you hand to the insurance company, straight out of Odoo. |
Compatibility & integration
Odoo 19.0 Point of Sale Sales Inventory WebsiteIt’s not a separate system bolted onto Odoo — it’s the optical shop living inside your ERP. Sales flow straight into invoicing, stock is tracked by Inventory, and an appointment becomes a prescription, then a sale, then a workshop job, all in the same database.
A single app. No extra modules required to run the core clinical and workshop flow.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work if I only have one branch?
Yes. Branches are optional — install the app and start with a single location; add more whenever you open the next one.
Can I bring in my current patients?
Patients and prescriptions are standard Odoo records, so they can be brought in with Odoo’s built-in spreadsheet import — no custom migration script needed.
Does it run on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and On-Premise?
Yes, on all three. It’s a standard Odoo 19 app with no special hosting requirements.
Do I need to buy any other app?
No. Optical MAX is a single app. It integrates with Point of Sale, Sales, Inventory and Website when you already have them — none of them are required to run the core clinical and workshop flow.
Is it available in Spanish?
Yes — English and Spanish are included out of the box, and demo data can be loaded per company to try it out first.

Is there support?Yes, before and after the purchase. Reach out any time — contact details below. |
