03. Starter Layout
Default Header and Footer Included
When you install Orbit Email Studio, each company receives a ready-to-edit email theme. You do not start from a blank page. The starter layout already defines a header zone, a body preview area, and a footer zone you can customize in the visual editor.
Header zone
A dedicated header area with starter placeholder text. Replace it with your logo, company name, tagline, and navigation links using drag-and-drop blocks. Header styling stays separate from the message body.
Body preview zone
A sample message shows how your colors, fonts, links, images, and buttons will look. This preview helps you tune the theme. Actual email content is written separately in each mail template.
Footer zone
A matching footer area with starter placeholder text. Customize it with your address, unsubscribe link, privacy policy, help links, and copyright line. Footer links inherit your theme colors.
Default theme settings on install
- Light gray outer backdrop with a white email canvas.
- Readable gray text and accent color for links and buttons.

Requirements & Setup
Orbit Email Studio is built for Odoo 19 Community and Enterprise editions. No external SaaS subscription is required to design or send branded emails.

Quick start
- Install Orbit Email Studio from the Apps menu.

Good to Know
What This Module Does and Does Not Do
Orbit Email Studio improves the look and editing experience of Odoo emails. It is not an email marketing blast tool and it does not replace your mail server. Please read the notes below before you install.
It styles the email frame, not every old message inside
A few built-in Odoo emails still contain old Odoo text inside the message body itself (for example some signup or digest emails). You can edit those messages directly in the template if you want different wording. The outer branded frame still applies around them.
Not for mass email campaigns
This module focuses on everyday business emails Odoo sends automatically. Large marketing newsletter campaigns use a separate Email Marketing app with its own layout.
Set up one theme per company
The rich editing tools appear after you create or open your company email theme. A starter theme is created for each company when you install the module.
Check emails after major Odoo upgrades
After upgrading Odoo, send a few test emails to make sure invoices, notifications, and portal invites still look correct.
Quick checklist before go-live
- Finish your company header, footer, and colors in the theme editor.
- Preview your most-used emails: invoices, sales orders, and portal invites.
- Send a test to Gmail and Outlook to confirm buttons and images display well.
