Step-by-Step implementation
1. Prerequisites
Ensure the following before installing:
- saas_orchestrator module must be installed and configured.
- Portal and Website modules must be active.
- Customers must have portal access enabled (invite them via the partner form).
- Tenants must be linked to the customer's partner record.
2. Customer Portal Experience

Instance List
A clean table at /my/instances showing all active instances with name, plan, status badge (green/yellow/gray), and direct access URL.
Instance Detail
Click any instance to see its full dashboard: plan, status, access URL, CPU/RAM/Disk metrics, last health check, and action buttons.
Credentials & Env Vars
View instance password (hidden by default, toggle to show). Add or delete environment variables within the plan's limit.
Restart & Upgrade
One-click restart for running instances. When a new version is available, an "Upgrade now" button appears with confirmation dialog.

Scenario 1: Portal User Sees Own Instances
- Create a customer with portal access. Link a tenant to their partner.
- Create one or more SaaS instances under that tenant.
- Log in as the portal user and go to /my.
- Test: The "Instances" card should show the correct count.
- Test: Click through to /my/instances — only their instances appear.
Scenario 2: Cross-Tenant Isolation
- Create two customers (A and B), each with their own tenant and instances.
- Log in as Customer A.
- Test: Customer A cannot see Customer B's instances.
- Test: Directly accessing
/my/instances/<B's instance ID>redirects to the instance list.
Scenario 3: Restart & Upgrade Actions
- Navigate to a running instance's detail page.
- Click Restart and confirm.
- Test: A success message appears and the instance restarts.
- If a new version is available, click Upgrade now.
- Test: The upgrade is initiated and a confirmation message is shown.
Scenario 4: Environment Variable Management
- Navigate to an instance detail page.
- Add a new environment variable (name + value).
- Test: The variable appears in the table (value masked as ********).
- Delete the variable.
- Test: Variable is removed. Exceeding the plan limit shows an error.
FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common Resolutions
I don't see any instances in the portal?
Reason: Your tenant is not linked to your portal user's partner record.
Fix: Ask your administrator to set the Partner field on the tenant to match your portal user's contact.
Restart button is not showing?
Reason: The restart button only appears when the instance state is "running".
Fix: Check the instance status badge. If it's stopped or in another state, restart is not available.
Environment variable limit reached?
Reason: Your plan has a maximum number of environment variables.
Fix: Delete unused variables or contact your provider to upgrade your plan.
Is this module compatible with multi-company?
Answer: Yes!
Detail: Instance visibility is based on partner/tenant association, not company. Each customer sees only their own instances regardless of company configuration.
