Simple Installation
1. Configuration & Installation
Getting started is easy. Follow these steps to deploy to your field team:
A. Backend Configuration (Admin)
- Install: Simply install the module. No extra settings required.
- Permissions: Ensure your delivery drivers or sales reps have the standard "Portal" access rights.
- Record Rules: The app respects standard Odoo record rules. Users will only download contacts they are allowed to see on the server.
B. PWA Installation (User's Device)
Android (Chrome)
- Open Chrome and navigate to your Odoo URL.
- Log in.
- Tap the three-dot menu icon (top right).
- Select "Install App" or "Add to Home Screen".
- Confirm the installation.
iOS (Safari)
- Open Safari and navigate to your Odoo URL.
- Log in.
- Tap the Share icon (square with arrow).
- Scroll down and tap "Add to Home Screen".
- Tap "Add".
2. Operating Manual
How to use the app in the field:
Offline Search
Tap the search bar and type a name, phone number, or city. The app ignores accents and capitalization to find what you need instantly, even in Airplane Mode.
Click-to-Dial
Don't waste time copying numbers. Tap the icon to immediately launch your phone's dialer. Validates phone formats automatically.
GPS Navigation
Tap the Address or Navigate button. Your phone will ask to open Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps to route you to the client.
Auto-Sync
Every time you open the app with internet access, it checks for updates (new partners, changed addresses) and updates your local cache silently.
Global Ready | Multi-Language Support

Scenario 1: Initial Data Sync
- Ensure the device has Internet access.
- Log in to the Portal and open the "Partners" app.
- Wait 5-10 seconds.
- Verification: Scroll down the list. If you see contacts loading, the sync is active. Refresh the page; it should load instantly from cache.
Scenario 2: True Offline Test (Airplane Mode)
- Turn ON Airplane Mode (Disable Wi-Fi and Data).
- Close the browser tab or app completely.
- Re-open the App/Portal.
- Use the Search Bar to find "Azure Interior".
- Result: Results must appear immediately. Tap on the record to view details. The Detail View must render correctly without internet.
Scenario 3: Field Actions
- Locate a contact with a valid phone number.
- Tap the Phone Icon.
- Result: The native phone dialer should launch with the number pre-filled.
- Tap the Address text.
- Result: Google Maps (or default map app) should launch searching for that address.
Scenario 4: Detail Updates
- On Odoo Backend: Change the phone number of "Gemini Furniture".
- On Mobile Device: Connect to internet and refresh the app listing.
- Go offline again.
- Open "Gemini Furniture".
- Result: The NEW phone number must be displayed.
FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common Resolutions
Data is not loading offline?
Reason: The browser might have cleared the cache or the initial sync didn't complete.
Fix: Connect to Wi-Fi, refresh the page, and scroll through the list to ensure data is loaded. Do not use "Incognito/Private" mode as it blocks database storage.
Can I edit/create contacts offline?
Answer: No. This version is strictly Read-Only to prevent data conflicts when multiple drivers act on the same data. All edits must be done by admins in the backend.
Does it consume a lot of storage?
Answer: No. The app is optimized. Even with thousands of contacts, it typically uses less than 50MB of device storage. Photos are cached intelligently.
I see "Install App" but I renamed it?
Answer: The app name on the home screen depends on the manifest configuration. You can rename the shortcut after adding it to your home screen on most Android/iOS devices.
