Canada EFT â CPA Standard 005 File Generator
Generate Canadian CPA-005 (1464-byte) EFT payment files for direct bank upload â vendor disbursement and payroll deposits, plus pre-authorized debit collections. No gateway, no per-transaction fees, no third party.
A real CPA-005 file your bank accepts on the first upload
This module builds the exact fixed-position record layout defined by Payments Canada (Canadian Payments Association) Standard 005 for Automated Funds Transfer files: a 1464-character File Header (Logical Record A), Credit (C) and Debit (D) transaction records packed six transactions per line, and a File Trailer (Z) carrying the independent control totals the receiving institution re-derives. Configure your originator settings once, build a batch, and download a ready-to-upload EFT file. Nothing is transmitted anywhere â you upload it through your own bank's cash-management portal.

Correct 1464-byte layout
Every logical record is exactly 1464 characters, with numeric fields zero-padded and alphanumeric fields space-padded, transaction segments packed six per line, and the file trailer holding the total value and count of credit and debit transactions.
Institution & transit validation
The 9-digit Institutional Identification Number is composed from the 3-digit institution number and 5-digit transit, structurally validated on every bank account, entry and on your own settlement (return) coordinates.
Julian dates & control totals
File creation and funds-available dates are written in the CPA Julian
0YYDDD format, and the Z trailer control totals are computed
exactly as the receiving institution re-derives them.

Bank-upload boundary (BYOK)
This module only builds the CPA-005 text file for you to upload to your own financial institution. It is not a payment gateway and transmits nothing to any external service â your originator ID, account numbers and payment data never leave your Odoo database. You remain the registered originator with your bank.
Compatible with Odoo 18 and Odoo 19. Community-only dependencies (Accounting base). No Enterprise modules required.
