The Product Internal Reference Generator Odoo app automatically create internal references & product SKU codes for products and their variations grounded on named attributes. You can enable or disable reference generation per attribute for full control.Users can manually change references, and with the Keep Custom Reference option on, custom values remain unchanged.still, the system regenerates the internal reference automatically, If disabled.It also shows a Product UID for each variation, helping to upgrade identification and product data reliability.

Our automatically generates internal references and SKU canons for products and variants grounded on specific values. You can control generation per specific and customize references anytime.still, your edited values stay unchanged, If Keep Custom Reference is enabled.However, the system regenerates references automatically, If disabled. It also shows a Product UID for better tracking and accuracy.
- Go to Inventory → Configuration → Attributes
- Enable “In Product Reference”
- Configure attributes for internal reference generation
- (Optional) Enable Keep Custom Reference to protect existing codes
- Save and start creating products
Product Internal Reference Generator Odoo
- Auto Product Internal Reference Generator & SKU – Automatically generates structured internal reference codes and SKU for products and variants grounded on attribute values.
- Automatic Internal Reference Assignment – Internal references are updated automatically when attribute values change, while maintaining consistent product coding.
- Custom Internal Reference Control – Reference generation can be managed per trait using a boolean setting for flexible configuration.
- Keep Custom Reference Option – User defined internal references are saved, preventing automatic updates when customization is applied.
- Unique Product Identifier – Displays a unique product identifier for each variant to ameliorate shadowing and product data accuracy.
Product Internal Reference Generator Odoo
First, go to Inventory → Configuration → Attributes, enable the In Product Reference option, and assign codes to each attribute value. Then navigate to Inventory → Products, create or select a product, and add the required attributes and values. The system will automatically generate internal references for the product and its variants based on these codes. You can manually update the internal reference, and it will remain unchanged as long as Keep Custom Reference is enabled. If you want the system to regenerate the internal reference, simply disable Keep Custom Reference from the product or variant form, and the system will automatically generate it based on the defined logic. Additionally, the Product UID is displayed on each variant for easy identification and management.
Product Internal Reference Generator Odoo App
1.Go to Inventory → Configuration → Attributes.
2.Create or select an attribute, add codes to its values, and enable IN Product Reference. Then go to Inventory → Products.
3. Add attributes and select their values in the product.
4. If no variants, then create internal reference for that product.
5. Add more attributes to create product variants automatically.
6.Each variant gets its own unique Internal Reference.
7.you can edit the internal reference for any product varient & its enable Keep Custom reference.
8.The system will not automatically modify the internal reference as long as Keep Custom Reference is enabled; it can only be changed manually by the user.
9.Go to Inventory → Products → Product Variants, then select a variant.
10.If Keep Custom Reference is disabled from the product or variant form, the system will automatically regenerate the internal reference based on its logic.
11.Disable In IN Product Reference in attribute.
12.If In Product Reference is disabled for all selected attributes, no internal reference will be generated.
13.Open Product Variants to see the Product UID for each variant.
