Catalog by Section
Add the same product to multiple sections on a Sales Order via the Product Catalog — as separate, independent lines. Designed for room-by-room, floor-by-floor, and area-based quoting workflows.
The ORDER SECTIONS panel (left) shows order sections. Click a section, then add products — they land in that section, not merged with other sections.

Six capabilities work together to make the Product Catalog section-aware.
Section-Scoped Catalog
When you open the Catalog, only the products and quantities for the active section are shown on each card. The same product in a different section doesn't interfere.
No More Merging
Adding a product that already exists in another section creates a new, independent line under the correct section — it never updates the wrong line.
Auto-Placement
New lines created through the catalog are automatically resequenced into the correct section block on the order — no manual dragging needed.
Section Detection
The module detects which section you are working in by reading your cursor position on the order line list — click a row, open Catalog, done.
Graceful Fallback
Orders with no section headers? The catalog behaves exactly as standard Odoo — zero disruption to existing workflows or orders without sections.
Image Catalog Preserved
Your team keeps the full visual product catalog with images — this module adds section awareness without touching the catalog's existing look or feel.
How It Works
Four steps to section-precise quotes
The workflow is identical to how you already use the Catalog — with one extra step: click your target section first.
Open a Sales Quotation with sections
Add section headers to your order lines (e.g. Living Room, Bedroom, Kitchen). These work exactly like standard Odoo section lines.
Click any row inside the target section
Click a product row (or the section header row itself) to set your cursor position inside the section you want to populate.
Open the Catalog and add products
Click the Catalog button as normal. Browse with product images, set quantities with +/−. The module knows which section is active.
Repeat for the next section
Close the Catalog, click inside a different section, reopen the Catalog. The same product now shows quantity 0 — a new line is created, not merged.

FAQ
Common questions
Does this work on orders that don't use sections?
Yes. When no section is detected, the module falls back to standard Odoo behaviour — quantities merge as normal. No configuration needed.
Do I need to change how I create sections on the order?
No. Sections are the standard Odoo "Add a section" feature on order lines. This module works with your existing section structure without any changes.
What if the same product already exists in the active section?
If the product already has a line in the same section, the catalog updates that line's quantity as normal — it only creates a new line when the product does not yet exist in the active section.
Will this affect my order confirmation PDF?
No. Lines are placed in the correct sections on the order, so the PDF reflects the section structure exactly as entered — the same way manually entered lines would appear.
Is this compatible with other Sale modules?
The module depends only on the standard sale module.
It overrides two well-defined extension points on
sale.order and should be compatible with most
standard Sale add-ons. If you use highly customised catalog
behaviour, test on a staging instance first.
