POS Analytic Default Location
------
Link POS Config to Analytic Distribution Models
Automatically assign analytic accounts based on the POS configuration used for the order.
What We're Solving
----------------
Scenario 1: Multi-Branch Retail Chains
A retail business with multiple physical locations needs to track profitability per branch.
Manually assigning analytic accounts to every POS transaction is impossible. This module
allows you to map each POS Terminal (Config) to a specific Analytic Account (e.g., "Branch
A").
Scenario 2: Department Store Sections
A large store divides its POS terminals by department (Electronics, Clothing, Groceries).
The finance team needs costs and revenue separated by these departments. This module ensures
all sales from the "Electronics POS" automatically go to the "Electronics" cost center.
Scenario 3: Temporary Pop-up Stores
When opening a temporary stand, you can create a specific POS Config for it and assign a
temporary project analytic account to track the exact ROI of that specific event without
mixing data with the main store.
Overview
----------------
This module extends the standard Odoo Analytic Distribution Models by adding a
new criteria: Point of Sale.
It works seamlessly with the account_analytic_default_location framework to ensure
that every accounting entry generated by a Point of Sale order (revenue, payments, stock
valuation) carries the correct analytic tags automatically.
Advanced Odoo 19 Support:
- Session Closing Support: Correctly assigns analytic distribution to
aggregated session journal entries and closing moves.
- Full Document Integration: Applies to Invoices created from POS Orders
and stock moves (picking).
- Merging Logic: Combines rules for different analytic plans (e.g., POS
terminal rule + Account Prefix rule) on the same line.
Easy Setup
----------------
1. Go to Accounting > Configuration > Analytic Accounting > Analytic Distribution
Models.
2. Click New.
3. In the Point of Sale field, select the POS Configuration you want to target
(e.g., "Shop 1").
4. Select the Analytic Distribution (Analytic Account) you want to apply.
5. Save. That's it!
Workflow Guide
----------------
Once configured, the workflow is completely automatic:
1. A cashier opens a session in the configured Point of Sale.
2. They process orders as usual.
3. When the session is closed and entries are posted, Odoo automatically checks the Analytic
Distribution Models.
4. It finds the rule matching the POS Config ID.
5. The Journal Items are created with the correct Analytic Account pre-filled.
