Up and running in minutes
No technical knowledge required — just open, design, and assign.

Go to Receipt Studio → Receipt Templates
Click New and give your template a name — for example "Main Branch" or "Drive-Through Counter". |

Set your global style
On the Global tab choose the receipt width, font family, logo visibility, and separator style. The live preview panel on the right reflects every saved change instantly. |

Style each section across the tabs
Work through the Header, Order Lines, Totals & Payment, and Footer tabs to fine-tune fonts, colors, and visibility toggles for every element. |

Add a QR code or promo block
On the QR & Promo tab enable a Google Review, WhatsApp, or custom QR code. Set a minimum order amount to trigger a promotional message. |

Reorder sections in the Layout Canvas
Drag the nine receipt section cards into any order and fine-tune the pixel spacing between them. |

Assign to a POS shop and go live
In the Assigned POS Shops field select the counters that should use this template. Open your POS — the design applies immediately, no restart required. |

PoS Receipt Studio
Design your POS receipts visually — fonts, colors, layout order, QR codes, and more — without touching any XML or code.
Installation
- Install the module from the Odoo Apps store or copy it into your extra-addons directory.
- Update the module list: Apps → Update Apps List.
- Search for Receipt Studio and click Install.
Configuration
After installation, go to Receipt Studio → Receipt Templates in the main menu (visible to POS Administrators only).
Creating a Template
- Click New to create a receipt template.
- Enter a name (e.g. Main Branch).
- Use the tabs to fine-tune individual settings:
- Style — font family, body size, separators, line padding
- Header — logo, company name, contact fields (phone, VAT, email, website)
- Order Lines — product name, quantity, price, discount colors and sizes
- Totals & Payment — total block, payment lines styling
- Footer & Promo — footer text style, conditional promo message
- QR Code — type (Google Review / Digital Receipt / WhatsApp) and URL
- Layout Canvas — drag sections into any order, set spacing between them
- In the Assigned POS Shops field, select which POS shops use this template.
- Save — the live preview at the bottom of the form updates immediately.
Layout Canvas
The Layout Canvas lets you reorder nine receipt sections by dragging them up or down:
- Logo
- Order Ref & Date
- Company & Contact
- Order Lines
- Totals & Payment
- Promo Block
- QR Code
- Footer Text
- Powered by Odoo
Each section has a spacing input (0–40 px) that controls the gap above it. Use the ▲ / ▼ buttons or drag-and-drop. Click Reset to restore the default order.
QR Code
Set QR Type to one of:
- Google Review — links customers to your Google review page
- Digital Receipt — links to a digital copy of the receipt
- WhatsApp — opens a WhatsApp chat with your business number
Paste the full URL or WhatsApp link in the QR Value field. The QR image is generated and displayed on every printed receipt.
Promotional Message
Enable Promo Enabled, enter a Promo Text, and set a Promo Min Amount. The message appears on the receipt only when the order total meets or exceeds the minimum amount.
Per-Shop Templates
Assign different templates to different POS configurations. Each shop respects its own template independently — useful for multi-brand or multi-branch deployments.
Access Rights
Receipt Studio is accessible only to users in the POS Administrator group (point_of_sale.group_pos_manager). Cashiers and shop managers do not see the menu.
