What this module does (detailed)
This package extends POS Retail with operational tooling for full-service and quick-service restaurants:
Table service / waitlist
Queue guests digitally, communicate estimated wait times, reduce door chaos during peak hours.
No-show management
Track parties that do not arrive to refine booking policy and staffing.
QSR throughput
Drive-thru oriented UX where enabled; recall prior orders for repeat guests.
Curbside pickup
Coordinate online-to-offline pickup lanes for hybrid ordering models.
Guest & area context
Guest profiles and service zones help hosts route orders to the right kitchen or floor section.
Analytics hooks
Supports measurement of table turns and wait-time KPIs (per configuration).
How it works
Installs backend models (e.g. waitlist), POS assets, and configuration on pos.config. The POS UI surfaces restaurant-specific actions alongside standard Odoo Restaurant POS flows provided by dependencies.
Installation & setup (step by step)
- Install POS Retail (
pos_retail) and complete base retail configuration. - Apps → install POS Retail Restaurant (
pos_retail_restaurant). - Restaurant core: Ensure Odoo POS Restaurant / floor features you rely on are enabled as required by your deployment.
- Open Point of Sale → Configuration — set waitlist, drive-thru, curbside toggles per venue.
- Staff training: Host uses waitlist screen; kitchen flow unchanged unless you customised POS Retail.
- Pilot: Run parallel with paper list for one week; compare wait times and no-show counts.
- Upgrade: Upgrade
pos_retailfirst, then this module; refresh POS assets.
