What this module does (detailed)
The module registers an OWL client action on the backend (web.assets_backend only). Operations managers open the dashboard from the Odoo backend menu (under Point of Sale / configuration depending on XML) and see consolidated indicators built from POS and inventory data their user can access.
Multi-store visibility
Filter or compare POS configurations / locations where your access rights allow.
Stock-aware context
Depends on stock — surface shortages or movers relevant to retail decisions.
Live signals
Uses Odoo bus for refresh triggers when events occur (exact tiles depend on implementation version).
Zero cashier impact
No POS frontend assets added — cashiers keep the same load time.
How it works
Menus load smart_dashboard_action.js + XML + SCSS. Data flows through ORM reads and optional bus subscribers; managers need backend groups for POS and inventory models.

Installation & setup (step by step)
- Odoo 19 with Point of Sale, Inventory, and Discuss/bus stack available.
- Apps → Install POS Retail Smart Dashboard (
pos_retail_smart_dashboard). - Assign access: Give supervisor users groups that can read
pos.order, configurations, and stock. - Open the Smart Dashboard menu entry (see module views for exact label).
- Settings: If the module exposes options under Settings → Point of Sale, configure API keys or filters there.
- Training: Use the dashboard during peak hours alongside session close reports — not as a replacement for accounting.
- Upgrade: Upgrade module after updates; clear browser cache for backend assets.
