Auto Validate Session
Skip the opening cash-control step so the POS session moves straight into selling when your process does not require a physical cash count.
Depends:
point_of_sale
Per POS setting
Do not pair with pos_retail on the same DB
1. Business value
- Shorter shift opening for stores that do not reconcile the drawer at day start.
- Less cashier wait time on kiosk or fixed-procedure counters.
- Smoother POS startup when opening cash control is not part of compliance.
2. How it works
- Patches
shouldShowOpeningControl()on the POS store. - When enabled and the session is in
opening_control, callspos.session.set_opening_control(..., 0, ...). - The opening count screen no longer appears; the session becomes ready to sell.
3. Main features
- Skips Odoo’s opening cash control step.
- Toggle independently on each POS configuration.
- Available on the POS form and under Settings for administrators.
4. Configuration
- Point of Sale → Configuration → Point of Sale → open the shop.
- Enable Auto Validate / Open Session (or the module’s checkbox label).
- Alternatively: Settings → Point of Sale → POS Smart — Auto Validate Session block.
- Enable only if opening cash counts are not mandatory for your business.
Implementation note
Only use when policy allows skipping opening cash verification; otherwise keep standard Odoo behavior.
